WDYT of the name Blaise?

We have two kids and are trying to figure out if I would like to TTC #3. My DD is Rebecca Clare and DS is Leo Gabriel. Anyway, we have a very common last name and DH and I really like the name Blaise but do not know how others may feel about it. The other boy's name we like is Jude. At this point, for a girl, we like Naomi, Lucy and Cecilia. Thanks in advance.

I love Blaise, it's on my top 5 list if we have another boy and out of your girls I adore Cecilia! Lucy's pretty but it's too nicknamey for my use (Lucianna or Lucinda would be my choices for a full name, Naomi's pretty but a tongue twister for me. I always have to soublecheck when spelling it too. Cecilia wins hands down for a girl ( My kids are Leo, Simon & Josephine, to give you an idea of my taste in names)!

I have to say that Blaise is NMS, and when I first see it, it makes me think of the word blase', so that's not a good association. I love Jude, though, and think it goes very well with Rebecca and Leo.

I like your girls' names, too, with Lucy being my favorite, but I think Naomi goes best with your other kids' names.

Blaise is nmsaa, I have only heard it once before, on a woman in her early 20s. I think many people would think his name was Blaze, and that is not quite what you are going for. Jude is great though, works well with your other children.

I love Cecilia and Lucy, Naomi is nice too, but not one of my favorites.

Blaise is not my style. I thought it was a girl name when I read the title of the post. What about Blake? I really like Jude though.

For a girl, I like Cecilia best, followed by Lucy.

GL deciding!

I really love Blaise! Unfortunately, my husband doesn't like it, but then again he never likes anything that isn't very traditional and popular. Blaise would be so cute on a little boy, but grows up very well. I can see Blaise as a trendy rock-star type guy or as a more serious, scientific type like Blaise Pascal. It is striking, versatile, and an overall great choice. This is coming from me, a complete name snob!

I like Blaise. If you are Catholic, he is a saint.

I also like Jude. You might consider Luke too.
