Are there any cute nicknames besides Jacqui? Ugh! I love the whole name, just not the nn. Does it flow well with the last name of Alexander?

HI Stephanie -

Jacquelyn Sara Alexander sounds a little short in the middle to me. It also seems like Sara runs into Alexander a little.

I love the name Jacquelyn, although this isn't my favourite spelling. I like Jacqueline MUCH better. Jaclyn is fine too. I knew many Jaclyn's/Jacqueline's growing up and they went by Jay, Lynn, Jackie, and some with no nn's, just Jaclyn. I think the nn Lyn is pretty. Or, if you want to pronounce it with an -een at the end, maybe nn Lena?

I think the name sounds pretty. I think the middle name Sara works fine. but this is coming from a person with a one syllable last name that likes a lot of one syllable first names and it's not going to stop me from using them. For example. I LOVE the name Shae for a girl. Our last name sounds like Peace. So her name would sound like Shae Peace. And I think it sounds fine. FIL is two one syllable names.

I like the nn's Jackie, Lynn, Jacks, or just using her whole first name.

Do what YOU like! Middle names aren't used that often and her last name isn't always going to be Alexander. ;)

I don't think the middle name flows very well with the first name. However, if the MN represents a relative, I'd stick with it anyway.

I prefer traditional spellings (It's not much fun growing up with your name continually spelled wrong).

I guarantee that your daughter will be nicknamed Jackie (however you spell it). So, if you don't like the nickname, pick another name.

i like Jaci for Jacquelyn (still said the same way)
for different could go for Jace (J-ace)
Ellie/Elle/Ella/Ellyn -or- Lyn/Lynn/Lynnie
could work beautifully with Jacquelyn!
Quinn would even be a possibility!
Jan could be another distictive nn for Jacquelyn

hht & gl2u ..and have fun thinking outside the box!

I like the combination a lot, but I also STRONGLY prefer the Jacqueline spelling. I've known many Jacquelines and a few Jaclyns, but no Jacquelyns and it just looks wrong to me. To me, Jacqueline is classic and timeless and Jaclyn is cute and spunky, but Jacquelyn is just misspelled. Sorry.

But I really do like the flow of Jacqueline Sara. And I like Jackie for a nn,

Jacqueline is the traditional and classiest spelling. Jackie or Jack is the only nickname I know of.

I have honestly never seen Jacqui as a nn (looks like random key strokes, if you KWIM). I did, however, know a Jaclyn who went by Jackie and a Jacqueline who went by Jax (which I always thought was cute and a bit different from all the other Jackies). You could also use Lyn from the end of the name. I agree with many of the other posts on using a more traditional spelling, though.

As to Sara, it isn't the best flow with the fn at all. Unless it's in honor of someone, I think I'd look for something with a better flow, perhaps one syllable -- Rose, Elle, Dawn, Eve, Faith, Faye, Trish, Grace, etc.

HTH
