I love love love Lucas, and I think the only thing holding me back is the: Micah, Zachariah, Amaya and....Lucas...It almost sounds like an after thought...That is why I put Noah. I love Jeremiah but DH thinks its way too close and matchy matchy to Zachariah. WDYT of it with the other names?
If the only thing holding you back from Lucas is the missing "ah" ending, I'd again strongly suggest Luca for you. It sounds nearly identical -- heck, the French pronunciation of Lucas IS loo-ka, no S sound

I honestly disliked Savannah when my mother picked it for my little sister's name. It was the name of a girl in middle school that drove me crazy.
However, as time as worn on I've found that I like the same Savannah, it's very feminine. I call her "Vanna" a lot but I'm the only one who calls her that.
Her middle name is "Leigh" as in Vivien Leigh, the actress who played Scarlett O
'Hara in Gone With the Wind.
"As far as considering Noah because it does have the "right" ending sound, that's exactly how it comes across. While your other children's names are a bit less common/more interesting, Noah is a very common option that actually seems a filler FN in this case. Almost like you couldn't think of a Biblical -ah ending you loved, but used uber-popular Noah simply because you'd been hearing it a lot and it had the ending you wanted, KWIM? Like Jazz in her previous reply, "The ones that fit best with your set, because of the 'ah' ending, are a lot more popular than your other names, so they don't sound as refreshing." That's exactly how I feel about Noah here."
I couldn't agree more mommy!! I didn't really think too much about that, but your right. And I would probably be choosing a name like Noah for that reason, because it "flowed" well. I think Jonah is growing on me. Josiah too.
What about Gabriella for a girl? Any thoughts?
Thank you all for taking the time to respond!

It's funny you should ask, because I did think of suggesting it after reading your boy list, but to be quite honest, it -- again -- is a much more common, popular choice. So there you have the same problems as with Noah and some of the others, in that Gabriella has the sound you obviously want, but is so common it seems a filler next to her siblings. Not nearly as unusual or interesting, KWIM?
Now if you want to stick with the a(h) endings, something familiar but not overly-common seems most in line with your style. Most of these were mentioned in previous replies, but they really seem the sort that would compliment your other children's names, rather than seeming out of place or, worse, overshadowed by them.

You know, Noah, to me WOULD act as a filler name as I don't really like or love it. The only thing going for it is the -ah sound.
But Gabriella I really like. Does that make a difference or would it still be perceived in this way?
Now I kind of wish we hadn't 'unintentionally' gone with the ah sounding names! It makes it so difficult now! lol
Micah
Zachariah
Amaya
Gabriella
I am kinda liking how they sound together though. Maybe only because I don't know any Gabriella's. But still, much more popular than any of my other names.
I didn't realize that Jonah or Josiah was popular.
My girl taste in names is very different from boy names. I like the feminine, almost cutesy/trendy names for a girl, but not so much for boys.
Still really liking Amelia. i like the nn lia and mia. You've been so much help.

I wouldn't call Gabriella a filler in the sense that you DON'T like it (and just feel you have to use it for lack of something better), but it still comes across as a much more common, less interesting choice than the other children, so yes, I do think it would be overshadowed by them.
And the sound of Amelia/Lia/Mia is the exact reason I suggested Lydia, Talitha, Cordelia, Delia, Celia and Eulalia as less-similar alternatives (since Amaya and Amelia sound nearly identical ... even matchy compared to many stereotypically matchy twin names, KWIM?). All of the above still give you the -elia ending sound -- Cordelia, Delia, Celia, Eulalia (bit of a twist) -- and/or Lia nn possibility (works for all of them), while still offering a slightly different sound and avoiding another Am__a name.
Not to worry! That's exactly HOW you find the perfect name in a case like this. Take what you like, but can't use, and feel around for something similar, but less problematic. ;)
