WDYT of "September" as a girl's name?

We were thinking about the following names, we like unique names but don't want to curse our children. My MIL loves September as a name but I worry it's stripper or porn star sounding (hay at least I'm honest!):
September Audrey Annatto
Story Lynn Annatto
Alice Katelyn Annatto
Thanks!

From your list, what about Audrey September Annatto?
If you do go with September (which I think I might like, actually) you could always use the nickname "Emmy"... it's right in there. That way, she'd have a more common nickname option with a funkier full name.
I'm not an Alice fan. Too strong of a pop culture association with that goofy waitress sitcom "Alice" many years ago. And then there's Alice Cooper. And the word "lice" which jumps out at me and gives me the itches. So, clearly, I just can't get on board with this one!
Hope this helps!
Hi there!
I like Audrey September.
Story is ok, but could lead to alot of teasing...
Alice? Nah- sounds to old and not alot of substance...
Isn't it funny how we all have different mental pictures when we hear names?
I wish you the best!
I considered naming my little girl "January," so "September" really isn't that much of a stretch to me. :) lol
I don't know what nickname I would use for September, though, and that's quite important to me.
I grew up with a girl named September. Her sister's names were Savannah and Amity. lol. Amity and September were made fun of in elementary school but in elem. school most of the kids dont even make sense when trying to crack on someone because they are just stupid kids. By the time we got to high school, no one cared, but she was a gorgeous girl and very popular. On the other hand Amity wasnt the prettiest and still got mad fun of like crazy.
I really like September, but I am partial. The one I knew really made an impression...the type of girl that you would be super grateful to have as your daughter.
I dont know about Story. Thats a common word in childhood. Might be a little confusing for your child. But it has a nice sound!
I dont like Alice at all but it may be because I really really hate Alice in Wonderland. lol.
i have known, met, or heard: january, February, April, May, June, August, (and also Winter, Summer, Autumn, Spring) for girls names... so any are fine, but i wouldnt want my name to be September, would you?
is your baby due in September? otherwise, would be really wierd month-names that are not born that month- (tho i have met April's not born in April---and surely they get tired of being asked/ppl assuming their birthday in April when not)
-how about Ember? of course, if you like September, Ember could be a great nickname.
for Story, i wold only go with that as a nickname, for possibly Astoria. would you want to hear your whole life, tell me a 'Story'? trust me, that is what she would hear her whole life...

Sorry to rain on your parade, but I think September and Story are just strange to be a little girl's name. Honestly, it sounds like you are trying too hard to be unique. I don't know that they are necessarily porn names, but, like stripper names, they call too much attention to themselves. Alice is pretty and classic; I like it, but it seems very different from your other two choices. Do you like it? If you do, then go with it.
There are a lot of names out there that are neither as over the top as September and Story nor as traditional as Alice. I just think you can find a more subtle way to give your child a name that is a bit different.
