WDYT of Stacia-nn Stacey for a girl?

I've always liked the name Stacey but thought it would be nice to have a more formal name for it. Anastacia sounds too old lady to me but Stacia seems kind of pretty and modern too. What do you think of this name? What about Stacey? Thanks!

I'm not a big fan of Stacey only because it reminds me of the 70s.

I like it. Although I first thought it was going to be a nn for Anastacia. But it is pretty all by itself. I wouldn't give her a nn though.

I love Stacia, I think it is fresh and pretty. Stacey is nms though, too 70's or somthing. It is the same number of syllables as Stacia, so I don't see how it would be easier as a nn. I say go with Stacia, lose Stacey.

I don't like Stacia...sounds like a sneeze. It also sounds like half a name...I expect there to be more to it (I'm not explaining this very well, but I'm hoping you get my drift). However, I very much like Staci. The only reason I don't like Stacey is that I know 2 boys who spell their names like that. I prefer it Stacie, Stacie, or Staci for a girl...but since you don't know boys named Stacey, it probably doesn't have male associations for you.

I love the name Anastasia, and I know a girl with that name who goes by Staci. No one calls her Anastasia. I'm not in favor of altering the spelling to Anastacia, though. Since you don't like Anastasia (or think it sounds old-fashioned), I'm in favor of you just naming her Staci (or Stacey). It's not a name that has to be nickname; it can stand alone, especially with a good, strong, feminine middle name.

Good luck!

I think it's a waste, to be honest. NNs are supposed to be shortened forms of the formal name. Stacia NN Stacey doesn't make any sense to me... Either just name her Stacey or try to find another longer name that Stacey might be a NN for.

Good luck, in any case.

I would go with Stacia. Stacy to me sounds like a barbie. Stacia is kind of like the modern day Stacy. Actually, before tonight I have never heard of Stacia! That's the kind of names that
I like.
