| Fri, 06-29-2007 - 12:45pm |
Hello, I just found out it was okay for me to have another baby - yea!! (it will be 4 c-sections, so I wanted to consult my doctor first). We're just tossing out names at this point but wanted to get some opinions on some names. Our children's names right now are, Charlotte Grace, Vincent Jameson, and Amelia Rose.
Girls names:
Nora
Meredith
Magdalena (nn Maggie). this was my great grandmother's name from Budapest - is it too weird??
Boys:
Dominic
Sebastian
Nicholas
Leo
TIA!

Pages
Nora: LOVE this name, prefer it with the "h" ending (Norah), but all the same really!
Meredith: do like this name
Magdalena: I do not find this to be too weird at all. I think it would be refreshing. I always love Maggie on a little girl and this would be a refreshing formal name as opposed to Margaret!
Dominic: like this, however, I vary in how much I like/don't like it on a daily basis. However, I think it is a good name to go along with Vincent
Sebastian: LOVE this!
Nicholas: LOVE this!
Leo: like this a nn, but not as a stand alone name
HTH & Congratulations!
I like:
Nora
Magdalena
Dominic
Leo

Girls names:
Nora - My fav of your girl's names. Very feminine & goes great w/ sibs' names.
Meredith - Dislike.
Magdalena (nn Maggie) - Definitely NOT too weird. It's a great name to use to honor someone special. And the nn Maggie is very cute & refreshing.
Boys:
Dominic - So-so.
Sebastian - Better than Dominic. 2nd boy choice.
Nicholas - Cute but Sebastian & Leo go better w/ your other kids.
Leo - I like it.
Magdalena (nn Maggie). this was my great grandmother's name from Budapest - is it too weird??
No it is beautiful! It is my favorite of the girls names you have listed I like Dominic and Leo best from your list for a boy. Also I have alway loved Vincent and Oliver for brothers just a thought.
Girls names:
Nora: Adorable!
Meredith: I love this name! I've only ever known one Meredith irl.
Magdalena (nn Maggie): I don't think this would be weird at all. Maggie is a really cute nn, and I especially love that it has a family connection for you.
Boys:
Dominic: I REALLY like this one...
Sebastian: ...but not as much as I like this one. LOL.
Nicholas: This one's really nice too, but I really do like Sebastian best on this list.
Leo: Leo is a great nn, but I don't like it at all as a given name.
LOL, when I first read your post I thought you were considering Budapest as a girl name!!! I'm glad I misread that :) Anyway, here are my thougts! As sib to Charlotte Grace, Vincent Jameson, and Amelia Rose:
Girls names:
Nora- OK, doesn't have the same feminine, special quality that I like about Charlotte and Amelia though.
Meredith- I don't really like it, kinda boring to me for some reason.
Magdalena (nn Maggie). this was my great grandmother's name from Budapest - is it too weird??- I LOVE Magdalena!!! I have tried to win DH over on it, but he isn't too into it (he is so uncooperative sometimes!) I had a friend in high school w/ this name, who went by Magda. It was very cool. Her parents were Polish, so I'm thinking it may be more common in Europe. I think this would be a beautiful, and special, choice. FWIW, it has been in the SSA top 1,000 ever since the data began back in the 1880's and all the way until now, so I don't think it could possibly be too weird.
Others you may like: Phoebe, Angeline, Matilda, Lillian
Boys:
Dominic- I really like it, goes very well with Vincent style-wise.
Sebastian- Very nice, but getting more popular IMO.
Nicholas- A bit bland next to the sibs.
Leo- Cute, but seems incomplete since other sibs' names are longer.
Others you may like: Donovan, Julian, Lucius, Oliver, Tristan
Good luck!
Thanks belle_petite for the siggy!
