I know it's used mainly as a boy's name but I think it would be kind of cute....esp with Ty as a nickname. It was my husband's suggestion(amazing since he doesn't like different names)and we have been having such a hard time agreeing on anything. My question is...do you think my daughter would end up hating it? I mean is it too boyish?? Thoughts anyone? Thanks so much :)

Usually I don't comment if I have nothing good to say, but I can't resist this.
Please leave Tyler for the boys. Your daughter will thank you some day.

I must be in a really tough mood today. This is the second time that I'm saying that I hate a name. Actually, I don't hate Tyler - I just hate it for a girl.

My best friend named her little girl Tyler Grace, she goes by Tyler or Ty. I thought it was a little strange at first but now it has really grown on me! Plus unisex names are really common now, I have another friend who named her DD Evan. I think your DD will love her name. If it were me I would go with a girly middle name just to balance it out.

I know a cute little girl named Tyler and also one named Dylan. I actually like Tyler better than Ty and I don't like Tyler for a boy.

I'm sure that you got alot of "no ways"! I think it is cute. Of course, I'm the one who likes Parker for a girl.:) Today there is just so many different names. I guess it just depends on if you want your child to stand out with a different name or have a more mainstream name. I don't think it's too boyish either. I'm sure she won't hate it! Bottom line is if that is what you like then that's all that matters.:)

I don't like it at all, it is very much a boy's name to me. I actually know a 29 yr old female Tyler who loathes her name. Her entire life was a series of explinations. She is constantly asked for ID as people do not believe her credit card is really hers etc. Please don't do that to your child when there are so many bautiful names for girls out there. Would you consider Taylor? That one has totally gone to the girls.

I don't understand the thinking that giving your daughter a boy's name makes it "different" and "unusual". No, it just makes it "confusing" and "trendy".

Hello there,

My three year old niece is named Tyler Leigh and I think it is absolutley beautiful for a girl. It is not as common as most boys names as of yet! I think that would be a great decision if you both love it. I know it is hard to agree on a name. Good Luck!
