I good friend of mine just had a little girl and named her Evan Faith. I actually like unisex names but I think thats just a little too much. I have a another friend who named her DD Tyler Grace and I love that name. But come on Evan!! Thats JMO hope nobody was offended.

We actually considered Evan for our dd also. I really like unisex names not really for any reason particularly. I bet this causes a lot of heat..I was very suprised at the last post about unisex names at how many people are very opposed to them.

I like most unisex names as well. My daughter is Hayden Elizabeth and I know some have a problem with Hayden being a girl name, but I really don't care. My favorite unisex name is Morgan for a boy!

I don't really like unisex names because its too confusing. As someone who grew up with a "weird" name, I know how much grief it can cause. There are so many beautiful names out there for girls, I don't see why so many people want to use boys names. Plus alot of people want to give their daughters "strong" names....as if naming your daughter Michael will make her stronger than if you name her Kate. Personally that strikes me as sexist. I do like some unisex names though....Bailey (either), Peyton (either), Avery (girl), and Delaney (girl).

As the mother of 4 boys I HATE it when parents give their girls boy names. It is hard enough finding the right name for your child but when so many boy names are now being given to girls it makes naming our little boys that much more difficult.

To me many of these names are not even unisex. They are BOY names but after so many name their girls w/ boy names the names BECOME unisex.

Personally, I think it's confusing for all involved. I work in a school and I met "Griffin," a second-grade GIRL the other day. There are a lot of beautiful names for girls that also sound strong if that's what you're looking for.

I'm actually getting used to all these boy-girl switchover names. They don't really raise my eyebrows so much now, as I know/heard on the boards, girls named:

Evan (not the first one I've heard)

Darrell

Devin

Dakota

Montana

James

Micah

Cameron

Morgan

Taylor

Peyton

Tyler

Kyle

Keith

Chandler

Justin

Rocky (not even kidding---she's 8)

Ricky

Sean (not Shawna....just Sean)

and I'm sure there's more, but that's what I can think of now. Those are all names I had considered just boy names.....not unisex, but many are now completely unisex and it won't be long before the rest follow, I'm sure. Like I said, it doesn't even surprise me any more. Just another evolution in the name game.

I like unisex names just so as long as they fit well into their posts. I cannot imagine any one nameing their daughters names like Adam, Richard, Benjamin and Caleb because there has to be some names that are exclusively for boys. I remember names like Teri and Jeri and Doni being for both. It all depended upon how it was spelled. For instance Jerry for boys and Terry although I 'ave seen a girl spell her name Terry and that was her name Terry. I always thought the Terry should be only for boys so we could tell the difference. Than look at the lady who used to play Olivia Walton Michael Learned. Like I said before I adore them but some names should be saved for the male gender. Oh by the way Evan Faith is a nice name.
