We need a girl's name!
| Mon, 01-30-2006 - 4:22am |
I am due in May with our second little girl. Our daughter's name is Mieli (pron. like Smiley) Olivia. My husband and I are not agreeing on anything. I love India but, my husband hates it and said that if I want to call her India I should also consider calling her Pakistan! He loves Isabella. Please help us with some new suggestions for both first and middle names.
Thanks!

I love Isabella! Do you have any issues with it?
Along the lines of India...

Lydia

For a middle name, something one syllable since the first name is long...
May
Hello and congratulations!
Personally, I'm on your side with this one.
India is such a lovely name. Even if you can't get dh to warm up to it, he needs to realizde that while Isabella is a beauty--- everyone else thinks so too! That's why it's one of the ten most popular names in the country--- and still growing!!!
Mieli is so unusual in such a pretty way- baby sis needs to have the same. What I did notice is that you both picked out names beginning with I- and ending with -a. Perhaps you should consider a compromise- Three came to mind-
1. Indira, Isadora or Ivah- All very nice matches to Mieli- Isadora even offers the adorable nn Dori with Mieli...
2.Bella? 5 letters like Mieli
3. Using Isabella for the mn, sounds great with Mieli's mn- Olivia- maybee then he'd let you choose a fn...
If that isn't an option, then here are a few more I thought of to go with Mieli-
IF you want another -ee ending- Aidri, Cambree, Dabney, Liddy, Jacey, Rory, Romy, Lissie, Darcy, Daphne, Evvy, Shaylee, Shelby, Dacey, Phoebe, Janie, Bryony (bree-uh-nee), Langley, Zorrey, Noemi, Lexi, Josie, Kateri, Jordy, Hilde, Sadie
Names that just sound good with Mieli without being cutesy-
Shea, Averill, Sage, Carina, Tey/Tay, Nina, Kyra, Tess, Skye, Bridget, Hope, Gretchen, Elle, Glynis, Eve, Esme (ess-may), Annika, Aday
Other 5-letter names I think sound good with Mieli (neat sibling connection) - Piper, Daria, Brynn, Greer, Tatum, Jessa, Tayla, Fiona, Bekka/Becca, Bliss
Possible combos-
Mieli Olivia & Bella Indigo (nice compromise, I think)
Mieli Olivia & Cambree Isabel
Mieli Olivia & Janie Isadora
Mieli Olivia & Belle India (another compromise)
Some I just like together-
Mieli Olivia & Evvy Allison
Mieli Olivia & Romy Isabeau
Mieli Olivia & Aidri Vanessa
Mieli Olivia & Eve Margaret
Mieli Olivia & Bliss Madeline
Mieli Olivia & Sage Catherine
Mieli Olivia & Greer Ellen
Mieli Olivia & Tatum Erika
Mieli Olivia & Piper Leanna
Mieli Olivia & Tey Alexandra
Mieli Olivia & Brynn Amanda
Mieli Olivia & Tatum Elizabeth
Mieli Olivia & Annika Rae
Mieli Olivia & Aday or Adae Christina
Mieli Olivia & Tess Vivian
Mieli Olivia & Becca Penelope
Enjoy the naming quest! Ginger
