OK~ Finally, we've narrowed it down to these two names and I would love your opinion on which we should name our little girl and why!
FYI - She will be our first, and if we ever have a boy in the future his name will be Brandon Thomas (just to compare how they sound together)

THANKS so much in advance!

Obviously both are masculine names, but Avery seems to be used more for girls in middle/upper-class circles while Jordan has a very lower-class, less educated feel. (Of course that won't matter to you, but just so you're aware how the two names may come across to future teachers, in-laws, employers, etc.).

I also don't like Jordan and Brandon together, mostly because of the matchiness (both two-syllable names ending in N), especially since one would be for a boy and the other for a girl. With such similar-sounding names, most will assume they're either both boys or both girls (since people who like to match often use these "creative" patterns for children of the same gender).

Avery Rose is ok, although I don't really like how the -ry Ro- parts sound back-to-back, but this is a very common combo altogether, just so you're aware. Nearly every time I see Avery on a girl the mn is inevitably Rose.

I disagree--I don't think Jordan is lower class at all.

Of the two, I prefer Avery =)

this is tough for me as I prefer more fem. names for girls. I'm gonna go with Avery, because I love the nn Ava. And, Jordan is too similar to Brandon for me, I do like Jordana though!

Good luck!

I really don't understand the lower-class feel that one of the posters was talking about with Jordon, I personally think it's a cute name for a girl. I'm not too fond of Avery (it looks like I'm alone there!) and it seems way to trendy right now. I'm sure as soon as you see the baby, you'll know! Good luck and God bless!

I think they are both cute but I agree with other posters about similar endings. Although, the beginning of both names are very different. I would probably go with Avery Rose. I also think if Jordan from the Great Gatsby when I hear the name.
Good luck!

I like both names but I agree with others if you are planning on using Brandon in the future than I would go with Avery for a girl.

I prefer Avery Rose...it is much softer/feminine than Jordan is to me. Plus, with the possibility of Brandon down the road, I think it's better to choose a name now that doesn't end with the same sound. Good luck!

Avery is one of my all-time favorites! If it wasn't so popular, I'd name my baby Avery whether it is a boy or girl! I love it! Rose makes it very feminine. Jordan is nms at all, and more masculine in my opinion. Avery and Brandon make a great pair...but after A and B you have to continue with baby C and D!!! :)
Congrats on the baby!

Avery Rose because I think it sounds better/is easier to say together than Brandon & Jordan.
