What about Chelsea?
| Thu, 02-15-2007 - 7:06pm |
I heard this name today and I realized that I really like it. I've only known one Chelsea, it doesn't seem to be extremely popular or trendy. And it goes well with the mn we're thinking of using, Elise.
What are your thoughts on Chelsea?
Thanks,
Emily

I am a big fan of Chelsea. I think it is spunky and fun. However, I do not think that Chelsea Elise has the best flow...the "sea" and "Elise" run together when I say them both out loud.
Good luck,
Brooke

I like it, but I'm biased :)
Its true though, when I introduce myself, at least half the time people say "Oh, like Chelsea Clinton!"
Chels
I actually know a Chelsea Elise- she is about 16 years old. I think that Chelsea is a pretty name, and all the ones I know are teenagers, so it shouldn't be overpopular for a child born now.
I agree with prev. posters that Chelsea and Elise run together and don't have great "flow". If that doesn't bother you, or if Elise is a very special family name or one that has special meaning to you, then go for it!

Thanks belle_petite for the siggy!

I love Chelsea and I love Elise but I
I'm glad everyone thinks this is a good name, it has really grown on me over the last day! I have never seen it discussed here on this board.
I agree that it doesn't sound *great* with Elise, but it's definitely better than some of the ones we've thought about!
Plus, I realized, how often am I really going to call her Chelsea Elise anyway? Once we get past the newborn phase where her name will be on everything, it won't matter. Plus, I think it really goes well with our last name - Howard.
I'm putting Chelsea on the table along with our previous top two - Violet and Meredith...

I totally agree that you'll hardly ever use both names together and they work.
