What are your thoughts on the name Addison for a boy? It is the ONLY name my husband and I agree on and it means "Adam's son". I know this name is starting to be wildly popular for a girl. I certainly don't want people to call him Addie. What if I spell it Adason?

LOVE Addison for a boy... ugh, please don't spell it Adason (or any other madeup spelling), that completely ruins it. It is a boy's name (which is clear in the meaning) and a great one at that. I love it.

I know how hard it is for two people to agree on a name for there kid and i think it's even harder for a guy to pick a name for a boy, after all no one wants there kid to be picked on for his name. The only boy's name me and my boyfriend agreed on was Aiden Joseph.

I think the rising popularity as a girl name makes it hard for me to like it for a boy...not that its isnt a boy name, just I dont like names that are unisex. sorry.

I like Addison for your son, ESPECIALLY since his daddy is Adam. That's all the explanation your choice should ever need if anyone else has anything to say about it.

It is meaningful to you and DH, and you both agree on it, no small accomplishment in itself. If your DH likes the name too, and obviously he doesn't mind that you and your son may likely meet girls named Addison, I think that's a really good indication that you should stick with it! The hard part is the two of you actually agreeing on a name. You've already mastered that! : )

boys with the name Addison don't usually end up getting called Addie, but with how popular it's gotten for girls lately (and to me it just sounds like the insanely popular Madison without the M) I just can't see naming a boy this anymore. and Adason, no way
