I see Tristan as a boy's name, and Trystin just looks misspelled to me. It also brings to mind the word "tryst", which is "an agreement, as between lovers, to meet at a certain time and place" -- not something I'd necessarily want to associate with my baby girl.

What about Trista? That seems a little more feminine to me.

Good luck making a decision!

To me it just looks like a trendy, feminized version of Tristan which is a boy's name. Made up spelling is nms. I LOVE the name Tristan for a boy, so that's why I'm not happy about it going to the girls.

It is female version of Tristan.. I have a baby book and it's in there for both girls and boys but for the girl version they use a "y".

Another vote for leaving the name to the boys. Agreeing with the pp who thinks the "y" just makes it look misspelled.

I agree with the others- it's a boy's name and you spelled it wrong. It makes me think of a lover's tryst or of a Triscuit.

Have to agree with others who said it reminds them of the word tryst - a secret meeting of lovers. That was the first thing I thought of and it made me giggle. Doesn't sound like she could be CEO with this name. Maybe Trista instead? or even the more masculine Tristan would be better than spelling it with the "y."

My opinion is that Tristin is a boy's name, however you choose to spell it. I have two boy cousins named Tristan/Tristin on each side of my family. The Y doesn't make it look feminine (to me), only makes me think you would say it "try" stin.

Best Wishes!
