I really like unique names but I don't want my daughter to have a hard time with her name. I want it to be an interesting "accessory" to her personality not a burden or annoyance. I have some names I'm feeling out but would appreciate hearing some new names if you have any. I do strongely feel that a name may sound strange at first but grows on you after time as you say it and interact with the child. The names I'm kind of loving are:

Jombi (pronounced jom bee)

Dicey (pron. Dye See)

Lilou (pron Lee Loo)

I am not a fan of any of those names, either.

I heard some kids at the park calling a little girl, who appeared to be from India, Jombi and it sounded really cute on her. However, I'm not sure if it was a nickname or if I even heard them correctly (the kids were all very young). In that case, I may very well have made the name up!

Dicey was the name of the girl in the young adult book series Homecoming. I really liked the books when I was a kid, and the main character had a hard "dicey"

Lilou is a lovely french name. I'd prefer it as a nickname myself, but I really like the sound of it and think it's quite pretty.

Jombi is the genie head from Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Watching it as an adult, I've noticed the character makes a lot of exual innuendo that I didn't catch as a kid. Sure, kids her age may not know the show, but I'm sure a lot af parents would be thinking "meka leka hi, meka hi nee ho!" I know I do.
