We are expecting our first child in May - and we have decided to not tell friends/family what the name is.

Gunnar is personally nms, but if you love it you should use it. And the mn is a nice tribute to your gf. I know my mother is going to hate whatever I name this baby, but too bad. I may use her fn as a mn, so maybe that will keep her quiet! I, too, am not sharing names with my family for this reason.

Good luck!

I love the name, and it's YOUR baby, which means you can name him whatever YOU want. She was able to name you, whatever she wanted, so go for it! and don't regret it!

LOVE it. Gunnar is a great Scandinavian name, and Howard is also my late grandpa's name - what's not to love?? :)

When it becomes your son's name, even if people don't like it at first, it will grow on them as it becomes more and more a part of who he is.

AJ, enjoying life with C.

Don't worry - most of your family will adjust rapidly to the name once the baby is born. If you give up the name you love, you will likely regret it for a long time.
