Hi Megan,
By your screen name, I'm guessing you've already decided to go with Anna if the baby's a girl, or that Anna is in fact your name :P
Anna's a pretty name, but it has been badly overused recently, at least going by the number in the preschool where I teach (and the fact that it's the 20th most popular name in the USA). Aiden is the same; when you put together the number of Aidan/Aiden/Aden/Aydan/Aydens, it's actually a top 10 name. They're popular for a reason-they are very lovely names, but if you don't want your child to be Anna M. or Aiden S. or whatever your last initial is, I'd go with something else. We're actually considering Anne if we have a girl: very feminine and classic, but rarely used now (Anna's the 20th most popular name, while Anne is the 398th!) Other 'Anna' names: Annika, Anneliese/Annalise, Annelie, Annora. Similarly simple, feminine names would Nora/Norah, Ellen/Ella/Helen, Elise/Elisa/Eliza, Lily/Lilian, Lucy/Lucia, Rose...there are lots! As for Aiden, Irish and Scottish names are extremely popular, but there are still lots that North Americans haven't gotten into- Declan (DECK-lin), Ewan/Euan (YOO-in), Alastair, Callum/Calum/Colum, Lachlan/Lochlann, Lewis, Finn/Finlay/Fintan, Tiarnan/Tiernan/Teernan, Cian/Keane...etc etc.

Aidan I don't like as much as Hayden. Daniel is very nice though.

I love Anna, I wanted to call my baby Anna if it was a girl, but DH doesn't like it, so we settled in Leah. I also like Aiden Daniel (we are thinking of Daniel for a boy) but just know that right now Aiden, Caden, Jayden...very popular (although Aiden is the least common of all of them). But I like the names all the same!
