Given that a very common slang term for diarhea is "the trots", this name has a TON of teasing potential. Absolutely the first thing that came to mind when I saw this name was diarhea. If I could push aside that image, I think I would feel sort of neutral about the name. It's definitely not something I love, but it's okay. But given the very strong association MANY people will have, I'd give it a strong thumbs-down.

I do believe that the term 'trots' is a common euphamism for diarrhea, not nomething I would want my kid named after.

I agree with the two PPs. The first thing I thought of was diarrhea. The second thing I thought of (because I live in Boston) was Trot Nixon. I looked him up and his full name is Christopher Trotman Nixon.

When I read it, I immediately thought of the expression "the trots" - - which means having diarrhea.

You could use it as a nickname, but I wouldn't give it as his formal name.

ITA with Annie! The slang for a certain unpleasant bodily funtion is exactly what came to mind when I first saw this name! If I didn't already know of that very-common "euphemism" (LOL), my next thought would be of a horse. Sorry. :(
