Ok, So we are down to the final 4!! but we are really thinking about Emerson Alice as our top choice. Alice is my middle name and my grandmother's name. Emerson I just love and we would call her Emmie for nn. Just curious on your thoughts..
Is Emerson to weird for a little girl? Would you just name her Emmie instead?
Also, How would you spell Emmie or Emme or Emmy?

Our other choices are:
Eva Grace or Eva Hope
Delaney Grace
Emma Grace or Emma Hope.

Thanks again, Tara

I have heard of Emerson for a girl, but it is nmsaa. To me, it's not an attractive sounding name for a boy or girl. If it's not a family last name being used as a first name, then it seems pretentious to me.

If your goal is to give her the nn Emmie, then I would give her a classic girl's name like Emily or Emma.

Eva is also a nice name, but I believe it's on the upswing, along with Ava.

Delaney is nmsaa.

What about naming her Alice? It's a classic name with a retro feel, and there won't be many - - unless you call her Allie. Then she'll be one of many!

Sorry, but I think Emerson is best left as a boy's name.

I'm not all that crazy about Emerson (or any of the ..son names: Carson, Addison, etc) for a girl. it just seems so masculine. That said, my favorite spelling is Emi. There is a little girl named Emmeline on my street who spells Emi that way.

I think that Emma and Emi are so overwhelmingly popular right now that I would rather use one of your other names. Eva Hope is lovely and honors your grandmother and Delaney is one of my favorite girl names so you can't go wrong there, IMO. Emma will certainly be one of many in her class, Eva might have a few Avas to contend with Delaney will most likely be the only one.

Good luck with your choice!

I like Emerson. I personally love NN, so I am all for Emerson with NN Emmie. I think I like Emmie spelled this way.

I think you should go with what you love! I think it is a great choice!!

I like Emerson. My dd is Emaline and when she was little we called her Emmy (spelled that way). She was named after my grandma who was also Emaline but spelled her nn Emy.
I think Emma is wayyyy popular right now. I hate trendy and popular names so I hope Emaline doesn't get that way. My Emaline is almost 17 now. I like classic names that aren't to strange. I also have a Jane. IMO her name is perfect! You don't hear it too often and it is always spelled and pronounced right since it is an easy name. I have been searching the social security site from the 1900's for names for my twins and think I have picked out what I am going to use.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts. Worst case scenario we keep the 4 names and wait until October, until she is born then we can look at her, and hopefully we will say, "Wow, she is definetly a......" then we will chose one out of our 4 names. I never thought, with so many cute girls names out there this would be so hard. I love all 4 names.. So thanks again and I will let you all know what we finally choose.-- Tara
