Hello friends

I would like to knwo what you think of this girl's name: Liselotte.

It's a combination of Elisabeth and Charlotte.

I'm american, my husband's dutch, and he's crazy about the name. Here in Holland it would be fine, but how do you think it would go over in the US?

We're also still looking for a nice traditional middle name to go with it. OUr last name starts with an O and is pretty difficult to pronounce, so we wanted to find something very traditional - 3 or 4 syllables. Any ideas???

For a boy, we;re naming him Alexander Hendrik Norman. Combination of husband's middle name and first names of both grandpa's. Yep, it's a mouthful, but I'm a sentimental gal.....

Thanks - Melissa (EDD 14 March 2006)

I don't care for it. How about Lisette? That combines the two, but is more acceptable worldwide.

Some traditional middle name ideas:

Caroline
Alexandra
Catherine
Meredith
Sarah
Amelia
Rebecca
Julia
Margaret
Madeline
Diane
Olivia

If it works in Holland then go for it. If for some reason she moved to the US and wanted to fit in more she could go by Liz. For the boys name thay are all good names but it seems really long especially if you have a long last name. I was lucky my DH, my dad, My great grandpa and both of my DH grandpas are all named William.
good luck Congrats and hope this helps.

Is it pronounced Liz-uh-lot? On which syllable is the emphasis?

Not knowing the answers to those questions, I think it's different but ok - not too bad. Of course people would at first question it (here in US) but it's a pretty name, not a ridiculous one.
