Juliana. Too much of a mouthful for a little girl?
I tend to think of 4 syllables as too much but my husband LOVES it and I think it's very pretty, but just not sure about it being too much. Feedback appreciated.

I like it! Although it's certainly a mouthfull for a child, it has several nn's that she could use if you wanted. Of course, my name is Elizabeth so 4 syllables was okay for me.

I like it a lot. It will likely be shortened to Julie by others, but I love that name as well.

Juliana is a gorgeous name. If you worry it's to long for her as a little girl, you could use a nickname until she "grows into" it. Remember, she won't be a little girl forever , and Juliana is a sophisticated and classy name as well as beautiful.

Not too much at all- I love it! You can always use nn Jules or Annie if you feel its too long.

My younger DD is Julianna (pronounced ann-uh, not ah-nuh), and we call her Annie for short. She just turned two years old and calls herself Annie, too, although she responds to Julianna. I'd say we use Annie about 75% of the time. We've never run into another little Julianna/Juliana, and we've only met a couple other Anna/Annies.

I love the name, and we get lots of compliments on it. People rarely comment on Megan (my older DD's name) or Annie, but when they hear Julianna, they say, "Oh, that's beautiful!" One thing I really like about it is that she has several nn options in addition to using her full name -- Julie, Anna, Annie, Ann, Liana, etc.

Even though it is a bit of a mouthful for a little girl, she won't be a little girl for very long. My 3-year-old has no problem saying Julianna, so I assume my younger DD will be able to say her full name easily within the next year or two as well.

Hope that helps!
Stephanie, mom to Megan Joy (nn Meg) and Julianna May (nn Annie)

I don't think it's too much at all ... it's very nice. But if you're still not sure, you both may like something similar, like Julianne, Juliet(te) or Julia. ;)

I think it is a very pretty name. I went to school with a Juliana and she was a very nice, smart girl. The name has a nostaligic ring to it, but it is not hugely popular or common. I haven't met a little Juliana for a long time, yet it doesn't seem dated.
