its sounds very pretty....i am not sure if i would use it myself (I'll be honest) and am not exactly sure why cause I really do like it...I think I would just be afraid that they might not like it when they got older...but its getting to the point where no matter what name you choose someone will have a reason for why you shouldn't soooo that being said if you love it and want to use it than I say go for it....but if you don't LOVE it than i wouldn't....
I like the name Autumn for the image that I get in my mind when I hear it, but I dont' necessarily think it actually has a pretty sound. I don't really like the "aw" and "um" sounds...but once I hear the name, I automatically think of bright, beautiful jewel colors and changing leaves and harvest and nature...so that is what makes the name attractive for me.
Since my association with the name is so closely related to the season, i would probably recommend using it only for a fall baby.
The only Autumn I've ever known was my neighbor growing up (not sure when her birthday was, but I think she was a few months younger than me, so that would actually make her an autumn baby).
I do think it sounds pretty though (although I don't think I could ever use it simply because I automatically think of my neighbor, since she's the only one I ever knew).
If you want a name that's not too popular and sounds nice, I think it's fine.
Autumn is a gorgeous name. As for "fall" babies, it isn't like your kid goes around with a sign on her head that says, "born in spring!" Please. We named our DD, born in March, "Summer" because to us it meant a sunny, bubbly personality, bright and cheerful. It had nothing to do with when she was born, and actually, if she had been born in the summertime, I'd probably not have used the name, fearing it would be too cliche.
If you like the name, use it. Don't worry about when your baby was born and whether people would be confused about your choice. I see an intelligent, slightly mysterious, red haired, beauty, who is also fun and friendly. Go for it!
I like it. A colleague of mine has twins Adam and Autumn. I always thought it was cute and different.............I like it better than Summer...............You can name her Autumn if she's born in Spring, most people will probably assume she was born in Autumn, but that makes no difference.............very cute with a short middle.....how about Autumn Paige?
