My husband actually likes this name!

Do you think it will always immediately be linked to the Shakespeare tragedy, or does that even matter?

Which spelling do you like better, Juliet/Juliette?

Any ideas for middle names? Would like to stay away from middle names that start with vowels, as this could create some weird 3 letter acronyms that resemble words...

I think it's a beautiful name. People might think of Shakespeare but I don't think it would be a bad thing. I would spell it Juliet.

A year ago, I would have said it's too old-fashioned but with so many other old-fashioned names coming into vogue (Meredith, Fiona, etc.), I think it will fit right in.

I love the name "Juliet", because of the association. In addition, I just feel in love with the song from Garbage, #1 Crush".

I like Juliet and prefer this spelling. But then I think the traditional spellings are the sweetest.

Speaking of sweet, Juliet Rose which has been mentioned a few times has special meaning for me. This is the name of one of my students who sadly passed away about a year ago - she was the sweetest, happiest person you'd ever want to meet! If names are linked to personality, you can't go wrong there.

Of course, if you don't like the Shakespeare assiciation, I'd stay away from it. Remember Juliet in the balcony scene: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other word would smell as sweet."

I'm looking at your ivillage name right now which makes me think Juliet Hope. Just a thought.

I love Juliet (this spelling, keep it simple). It is beautiful and classy and unpopular. I know one Juliet, age 1, and she is the cutest thing. I don't think it will be associated so much with Shakespeare anymore. I LOVE it.

I'm not too crazy about Juliet. I do always think of "Romeo & ..." when I hear it. And I just don't care for its sound.

That being said, if I were to choose that name myself, I would probably spell it Juliette.

Juliet Marie...Juliette seems harsher somehow then Juliet. It is a beautiful, feminine name.

I actually REALLY like Juliette (spelled like this). I knew one in high school and no one ever made fun of her with the whole Romeo thing and there was a baby Juliette on my old block. Very sweet name.
