I think its a really cute name but its NMS. I think its because a long long time ago my little brother was CRAZY about Power Rangers and they came out with a movie and the bad guy was named Ivan some or other and he was a purple human with a HUGE nose, I can't get that image out of my head!

My first thought was Ivan the Terrible, then Hurrican Ivan last year which killed dozens.

Never known anyone with the name, doesn't have any nice associations for me.

I love it. I met a boy called Ivan when I was 8 years old. I know a guy now who's name is Ivan. They're both from Colombia (the country).

If I had a boy I would have wanted to name him Ivan, but I can't because my name is Ivonne. So that's redundant. I like names depending on how I pronounce them, so please forgive me if I am biased.

In Latin America we pronounce it as eeh-vhan.

I taught my daughter to teach her friends to pronounce her name in spanish, and they do, and it sounds beautiful. Her name is Andrea and no one calls her en-dree-ah or
An-dree-ah, they call her An-dreh-ah, as they should.
