Ca-ty-a (i'm sure you could vary the spelling)
I like Catya Desiree.
I also love the name Kimberlynn and Camryn Erin. I love the boy name Cooper too. I love the name Cash and Tuff and Tug and Malanee and Tucker and Trucker and Mack. I know everyone won't love these but just wanted to throw out some names I have had in my head. I try to see a name as just what it is a name and how it rolls off the tongue..It is our gift to our children. How about Cashay or Cash-ay long A sound. I love the name Walker for a boy also..Sooo many names! Fun!

"Malanee - spell this Melanie and you have a great pick
This particular name is not "Melanie" it is Ma-lane-ee."

Hmm, I think that could be a cute name. But with that spelling, it looks like MAL-a-nee, and it would probably get mispronounced all the time.
Maybe it would be clearer if you tried something like
Melainey,
Malainey,
Melaynie or
Malaynie,
to show that it's an "AY" sound in the middle.
Hope this helps!

Hmm, your tastes are very different from mine, but let's see...

Catya Desiree: I prefer the more traditional Katya or Katja, but Catya's not bad. Desiree is nms, and I don't think it flows particularly well with Catya.

Kimberlynn: Many of the Kim- names seem dated to me now, probably since I grew up with so many Kimberlys in the 70s and 80s. Kimberlynn seems too long. I think I prefer Kimberlyn. Kendra, Kyra, or Kendall are all more appealing to me.

Camryn Erin: I like Cameron for a girl, but I prefer the traditional spelling. Imo, if a parent is comfortable using a traditionally male name for a daughter, there should be no reason to change the spelling in an attempt to make it more girlish. There's nothing inherently feminine about the letter 'y'. I'd avoid having both the first and middle name end with the same sound.

Malanee: I would never guess ma-LAIN-ee from this spelling. It's a pretty sounding name, but you might want to explore other spellings to ensure the pronounciation.

Cooper: I like Cooper, too. I think it's really taking off in popularity.

Walker: Very cool. A strong, adventurous name.

Tucker: Cute, but nms because of the most obvious rhyme.

Cash: Nms, but not bad. Cashay is awful.

Tuff, Tug, Trucker, and Mack: Strictly nickname material. I think these would be very poor choices as legal first names. They sound more like puppy names than boy names, and I think they'd be a burden to a child rather than a gift. Instead, how about Tucker Griffin, nn Tuff or Tug, something like Trent Cooper to get the nickname Trucker, and any of the various Mac- names for the nickname Mac.

Hello. I enjoyed comtemplating your list! It's always nice to see something fresh and unexpected.

Cash is a personal fave. On the right child, it'd be great!

I also like the name Kimber a lot. I have known two Kimberlyns, both with one -n.

Katia is my favorite variant of all the Katherine names. It is gorgeous and undiscovered in the US. I prefer this more traditional spelling and the Russian pronunciation- Kah-tee-uh. Desiree is another long-running favorite of mine, though not favored here on the board. It has a lovely sound and the wonderful meaning "desired."

I also find Erin to be a great "new traditional" name. It would be a fantastic mn with many of the more unusual names you will be attracted to- sort of a calming effect. Camryn Erin does not have the best flow, though. In the long run, I think you will grow tired of Camryn or Tucker or Walker or Cooper, given your attraction to more obscure names.

I am familiar with Malanee but only as a girls' name- Melainee, and I have only known one. As a male name, you might consider the Spanish- Melanio or Italian- Milano.

Cache' is a French word pronounced exactly how you spelled Cashay. It is listed in many name books as a girl's name. It has the meaning of glamour/luxury or something of the sort, which is also why it is a semi-upscale women's retailer where I've purchased a few items over the years. As such, I find it makes a rather nice girl name.

Unlike the previous posters, I do not see it necessarily required to give a child a more formal name than Mack. In fact, in many cases, I find it superfluous, pretentious and unnecessary. After all, most little Macks grow up to be big Macks (and Sams and Jims and Jacks). If their argument is that there are times when you want to hear the formality of the full name, a formal mn should suffice. If their argument is that the child should have a choice as he/she grows, well then, I think I'll call my daughter Argentina (because I REALLY do like it) and she can go by Samantha later if she doesn't like it...hee, hee. On the other hand, it would seem that many of the longer Mack- names would be just your style- MacKinley, McCrae, McClain, Macklin, etc.

Tug, Tuff, and Trucker are not names that I would personally consider, but I can certainly appreciate your desire to find a name that stands out. At the same time, you want to think of what will work in real life. I have loved many names over the years- a good example is my deep love for the name Argentina for a girl- yet, I've come to realize that while it's neat and interesting in theory (and for me to dream about), it would prove to be more of a burden to her (more than likely) in real life.

Interesting short/striking/unexpected names along the same lines of Tug and Tuff that may lend you more credibility include Lev, Rhett, Ames, Bram, Teague, Simms, Teal, Tann, Tane, Brandt, Ridge, Dane, Chan, Burke, Beck Chaz, Chet, Dax, Breck, and Kai.

Thank you for sharing your ideas! I love your excitement about the name game! Enjoy the journey, Ginger

I like Camryn, Erin, Cooper (this is one of my top names for a boy right now!), Tucker, and Walker.

The rest of the names are not my style.

Ok good luck with your names. I have a problem with Tucker, I do like it alot because its my last name. Ever since I first met my DH and my FIL they have told me what they used to be called at school. Just subsitute T with F and that whats they were both called.
To make matters worse my FIL's first name is Denis so that was changed from D to P. A priest in the 50's called him that by mistake and it took years for him to live it down. We had to promise when we fell pregnant with DS#1 that we wouldn't name him after his Grandfather or any of the other kids.
Both find it really weird that people in the USA are willing calling their children Tucker with the nn that came with it.

*Camryn Desiree
* Walker is nice!

I do not like Tuff at all! I'd kinda be afraid it would make him a street fighter.
Names can have influences in bad ways sometimes. Tuff would cause him to be challenged physically all the time by other boys.

Hope this helps! : )

I like Catya, but I would spell it Katja or Katia.
