OK I am 11 1/2 weeks pregnant, so we still don't know what it is. But we have chosen for girls:

Lilly Ava
OR
Avery Ryan

and for a boy

Fallon Nash (Nash is my husbands grandparents, who are 81 and 79, last name)

What do you guys think??

My thoughts:

Lilly is lovely, but quite popular, especially with all the Lilianas and Lillians being born. Lila is a pretty alternative.

Avery is a bit too unisex for my tastes and paired with the very masculine Ryan I would assume it was a boys name. I would like this much better with a more feminine mn.

Fallon is a name I have only ever heard on girls. I have met a male Faolan (he was Irish) but in the last few decades Fallon has only been on the American top 1000 Social Secuity charts as a girls name. Nash is a wonderful choice however, I like it a lot and the family significance makes it even more special

Lilly/Lily is very popular right now, but pretty. Avery is also a popular boy and unisex name. I would chose Lily over Avery.

Fallon reminds me of a female character on the show Dynasty, so I think girl's name. I check babynamewizard.com's name voyager to get a sense of Fallon's popularity. It shows it as a girl's name reaching its peak in the 1980s and then pretty much falling off the map. Personally, I'd stay away from that one. Nash as a first name would be a better choice, imo.

I liked the Nash part, but I live in Nevada and when I saw Fallon I think of the town and the Naval Air Base! Sorry!

Hi there, Megan. Here are my thoughts:

Lilly Ava-That's beautiful. It's sweet, timeless, feminine, all of the right qualities. Lillian Ava nn Lilly would be good too if you want to give her a more formal name.

OR

Avery Ryan-No. Avery & Ryan are both boy names. If you have a baby girl, stick w/girl names!

and for a boy

Fallon Nash (Nash is my husbands grandparents, who are 81 and 79, last name)-I do like the Nash part, but the only Fallon I ever knew was a girl. How about Avery Nash or Ryan Nash for a boy? Those are both perfectly nice.

Hope this helps!

Lilly Ava - way too trendy for me. I guess it's pretty, but nmsaa.

Avery Ryan - maybe Avery for a girl and maybe Ryan for a girl, but definitely not Avery Ryan for a girl. I love both names separately but I love them for boys. I wouldn't name a boy Avery Ryan, though, either.

Fallon Nash - Nash I like a lot. Fallon? I see it as a girl's name.

How about Ryan or Avery as a boy's first name w/ Nash as a middle? How about Fallon as a girl's first name w/ Lilly or Ava as a middle?

Just some suggestions. Good luck.

Lilly Ava is nice, though I prefer the spelling Lily. Avery Ryan is a boys name. Fallon isn't bad.

Lilly Ava is a pretty name, but both names have become increasingly popular in recently years. If that doesn't matter to you, then I would definitely go with that name over Avery Ryan. I like each name separately, but together, I think its too masculine of a name for a girl.

Fallon I'm not fond of at all. I gather from reading other posts that it was popular because of an 80's TV show, but I'm too young to remember that show, so I didn't know what gender to associate with it. I love the idea of using Nash, and would probably try Nash Avery or Ryan Nash.

Love them all! I'm sure you'll change your mind a million times, but I love the name Nash for a boy. Sounds like he'd be a smart and handsome.
