What if she's a tomboy?

I really like the name Lorelei Giselle, but I realize it's kind of a "frilly" name (especially when you add on Giselle to it). I have this fear that my daughter is going to grow up, and the name is totally not going to fit her. I really love the name, but what if she's not a "girly-girl" and she ends up being a tomboy. I suppose she could always go by Lori or Lora. What do you think? Should this even be a concern?

Wouldn't really concern me in this situation, because as you mentioned she could always go with a less "frilly" nn (besides the ones you mentioned, she could go by Rory, which isn't overly-feminine at all, being unisex). The beauty of having a few nn options. ;)

I think you give her the name you want cause
I wouldn't worry about it. The Lorelei I knew in college actually went by Lori all the time, and she was mostly girly (but I think it would have worked if she'd been a tomboy, too). There's not much you can do about what she becomes -- whether you give her a frilly or more unisex name. She'll figure it out. :-)
