What sort of a person would you imagine an Aurora to be?
or Aurora Lefay to be more precise,
i looked on the american baby website and it immediatly said airhead - concerned! I read a study that showed a clear link between teachers perceptions of names and childrens attainment scores.

Definitely beautiful like Sleeping Beauty. Probably a blonde...blue eyes...
Maybe a bit sensuous as she ages...a real tease...
Not frail...

Sorry...I don't really like the name. Well, that's not really right. I do like the name, and I think of Sleeping Beauty when I hear it--GOOD connotation. But, there was a little girl in one of my cousins' preschool classes named Aurora, and everyone called her "Oreo" because none of them could pronounce her name. If you think about it, the name really is hard to say if you're just learning to talk. My cousin is now 12, and people still call Aurora "Oreo" because that's what they started calling her when they were all three years old and in preschool together. I don't mean to negate the beauty of the name--it's just something to be aware of. Congratulations!

In real life or Disney?

In Disney, dark blonde, beautiful, intelligent and every inch a heroine.

In real life, a tad feisty, dirty blonde/brown hair

One of my friends has an Aurora. Her name was supposed to be Dawn until right before she was born and then my friend and her husband decided to go with another form of Dawn and got Aurora. The Aurora I know is now 19 and is a total b*tch. SHe's very pretty and brilliant but has always been a spoiled brat (the fault of my friend and her husband - I assume). Sorry, but when I think of Aurora that's what I think of - a girl who thinks that's she's better than everyone else.

Sorry, but in all honestly, I just think the name is plain ugly. I'm not saying that to be cruel or for my post to be taken in a totally negative light, but if we're honestly giving our personal opinions, then I have to stick with how I really feel! It conjures up thoughts of a girl who might not have a lot of friends and prefers to spend her time alone, but not usually by choice. I picture her collecting unicorns and having a ton of stuffed animals in her room at the age of 13. Glasses, a bad perm and lack of social skills.

I know, I know! But that's HONESTLY what I envision when I think of the name! No Sleeping Beauty thoughts here, but then again, my kids were never really into Disney videos. Perhaps that's my problem! ; )
