what to name another baby

Hi my name is Amanda a SAHM to two very active twin boys who will be 4 in November. We're very pleased that I'm pregnant again and due in early May. We love our sons' names. Last time we decided that we wanted something masculine, and sturdy, but not stuffy. We'd still like a name like that but can't think of anything. Something that works with the middle name David, Martin or Roy.

For a girl we'd like something pretty and feminine with some spunk would be nice, but not unisex. We have very few ideas. Our list is

Ivy
Lucy
Phoebe
Tess

Something that works with one of our family names Ellen, Kathleen, Louise, Ruth, Margaret or Julia. Our last name starts with an H ends in AN and is 3 syllables. Our sons are named Pierce Kenneth and Sawyer James. Thanks

Amanda

Pierce and Sawyer are great names! For a boy, I immediately thought of Holden David. I think Pierce, Sawyer, and Holden would sound nice. I also like Kyler, Ryland, Caden, Milo, and Roan.
I like all of the girls names you have chosen. I think my favourite would be Phoebe Kathleen. I also really like Julia for a mn. Have you thought of Jade or Corrine?

I really like your suggestion of Holden but unfortunately our last name starts with an H and ends in AN, although it's 3 syllables instead of 2 like Holden. I don't mind alliterative names but I think it sounds odd with our last name. I do like Roan too though, so I'll have to see what my husband Mike thinks of that one. How do you say Corrine? Is it the same as Corinne? If it's said Core-rin that's really pretty. Not sure about it if it is said Core-reen? I don't like Jade, but thanks for the suggestion.

Hi there, Amanda. Pierce & Saywer are such great names! I'll try my best to suggest some names for you, but perhaps staying clear of names that end in N due to your list name. Here's a boy list-

Brant

Barrett

Clark

Drake

Emmett

Everett

Forrest

Garrett

Grant

Louis

Max

Mabry

Miles

Milo

Rafe

Wesley

Zane

I hope that you see something that you like there. I personally think that Forrest or Miles are fabulous picks w/your boys' names.

Onto the girls...excellent starting list! Here are my thoughts on those-

Ivy -This is so precious & spunky indeed. I love the simplicity of it, but it's still very feminine.

Lucy-Ah, same as above. They're both perfect.

Phoebe-This is also great, but if I had to scrap one it'd be this to avoid the same initial for two children thing. It's probably not a big deal, but we must narrow this great list down somehow, right? ;)

Tess-Goodness, I love this one too! I'd do Tessa nn Tess, but either way it's so cute.

Not that you need them, but just in case here are a few more suggestions-

Ana

Anya

Ada

Celia

Daisy

Daphne

Eva

Eve-I just love the nn Evie.

Elle-I love the nn Ellie too, but just Elle seems to fit your criteria really well.

Esme

Giana nn Gigi

Greta

Hattie or Harriet nn Hattie

Izzy...perhaps Isabel nn Izzy or maybe nn Isa? (EE-suh)

Josie or Josephine nn Josie or maybe Josephina or Johanna nn Josie. I love Josephine

June nn Junie

Jane nn Janie

Lulu-maybe Lula or Tallulah or Lucia or Louisa or Lucille, etc. nn Lulu.

Libby-maybe Elisabeth nn Libby

Maisie-maybe Madeline or Maureen nn Maisie...or Mae or Maeve?

Molly or Moira nn Molly?

Nina

Neva maybe nn Nevie?

Polly

Rosie maybe Rose or Rosa nn Rosie

Roxie or Roxy-darling!

Talia nn Tali?

Zizi-maybe Elizabeth or Eliza nn Zizi? I think Zizi is just adorable.

See anything you like here? Keep us posted!

Pierce, Sawyer and...

Reece (or Rhys) Martin/David {may be too feminine now}
Henry David/Martin
Russell David/Martin
Griffin David/Roy
Thomas Roy
Nathan David

Pheobe Kathleen/Louise/Ruth
Ivy Ruth
Lucy Kathleen/Margaret
Tess Margaret

I like Rhys or Griffin for you and Tess Margaret (Lucy is a close 2nd). I like the fact the all the names have the S sound in them. (I've got that going for me too! It's pretty cool)

Good luck! and congratulations.

I really like your sons names. How about one of these for a boy:

Grant David
Brock David
Kevin Roy
Holden David
Cole David
Gage Martin

For girls I love the name Julia. How about Julia Kathleen? Ellen is very nice too.

Thanks for the compliment on my boys' names. We think they're great too :) I also really appreciate all of your suggestions. I'll be copying it to see what my husband thinks

Brant- this is nice

Barrett- this is great!! I really like this

Clark- too stuffy for me, sorry

Drake- too stuffy for me

Emmett- this is cute but I can't see a grown man named this

Everett- I love this! Great suggestion!!

Forrest- I love this too.

Garrett- this is really nice!

Grant- I like this even more then Brant but not as much as Barrett

Louis- this is a nice name, but not for me.

Max- unfortunately I have a cousin who I'm really close to with a Maxwell "Max" who is 11. Otherwise this is a great name! Can you suggest something similar?

Mabry-when I saw this I thought of Mayberry

Miles- this is really nice, I like it

Milo- this is okay

Rafe- I like it but don't think my husband will.

Wesley-to stuffy

Zane- I like this!

Ana- this sounds off with our last name

Anya- I like this but not sure with our last name.

Ada- how do you pronounce this? I've heard it Add-ah and A-dah
Celia- this is really pretty.

Daisy- cute but prefer it as a nickname for Margaret.

Daphne- I like this not sure if my husband will though.

Eva-I have a great aunt Eva who wasn't very nice.

Eve-I just love the nn Evie. see above, still reminds me of her

Elle- I LOVE this!! great suggesion. Definitely going on our list I don't care if Mike doesn't like it. :)

Esme- oh this is great too.

Giana nn Gigi- I like Gigi but not Giana, but I'd never use Gigi as a given name.

Greta- this is okay

Hattie or Harriet nn Hattie- not for me

Izzy...perhaps Isabel nn Izzy or maybe nn Isa? (EE-suh)- Isabel in every spelling is really popular in my area.

Josie or Josephine nn Josie or maybe Josephina or Johanna nn Josie. I love Josephine- I like Josie and I like Johanna but not Josephine.

June nn Junie- not for me

Jane nn Janie- this is okay.

Lulu-maybe Lula or Tallulah or Lucia or Louisa or Lucille, etc. nn Lulu. Not sure about Lulu but I really like Tallulah. That's cute. Is it still too Demi Moore/Bruce Willis?

Libby-maybe Elisabeth nn Libby- I really like Libby but actually not fond of Elisabeth/Elizabeth. Do you think Libby is a horrible given name for an adult woman?

Maisie-maybe Madeline or Maureen nn Maisie...or Mae or Maeve? Maisy is a mouse and spelling it Maisie will not convince my son Pierce who likes her that it's not a mouse name. I do like Mae though. See what my husband thinks about Mae for sure.

Molly or Moira nn Molly? Molly is okay and so is Moira.

Nina- cute but not for me

Neva maybe nn Nevie? I don't like this

Polly- cute but as a nickname only

Rosie maybe Rose or Rosa nn Rosie- I like Rose and Rosie. very cute.

Roxie or Roxy-darling! oh that is cute.

Talia nn Tali? oh that is relly pretty but seems kind of exotic to me.

Zizi-maybe Elizabeth or Eliza nn Zizi? I think Zizi is just adorable. not sure about Zizi but really like Eliza.

My husband mentioned the name Romy, for a girl, last night. What do you think of Roma nn Romy or just Romy with Pierce and Sawyer.

Thanks a lot!!!

Thank you for the suggestions

Reece (or Rhys) Martin/David {may be too feminine now}- I like the Rhys spelling but think that unfortunately Reese/Reece might be too popular with girls for my husband's taste.

Henry David/Martin- Henry is cute but I'm not sure if husband would like it

Russell David/Martin- not for me

Griffin David/Roy- that's really nice. Does it sound funny with a 3 syllable last name that ends in AN

Thomas Roy- Thomas is nice but kind of boring for me personally

Nathan David- I like this but not sure with my last name.

Thanks again

Hudson- great name sounds funny with my last name

Paul- stuffy

Flynn- GREAT name!! I really like this suggestion!

Dominic- every Dominic I've met is a hooligan

Harrison-sounds bad with our last name, starts with an H is 3 syllables and ends in AN. Also I have a cousin I'm very close to who I see often with a Harrison "Harry- 13, Maxwell "Max"- 11, Gwendolyn "Gwen"- 8 and Calvin "Cal"-5.

Cole- too close to Cal and he comes over with his mom my cousin.

Lily- nice but I know two

Dana- too unisex

Victoria- not one I like

Anna- sounds funny with my last name

Kathryn- prefer Katherine or Catherine spelling personally but know too many Kate or Katies

Josephine- don't like Josephine

Francesca- too exotic for me

Noelle- this only works with a Christmas baby IMO

Josephina- don't like this either

Belle- this is nice

Annelise- Like Anne "Annie" and actually like Elise but not together for some reason.

Rosali- like simpiler Rose better personally.

Margaret- I've always like this name but it's a family naem and we'll only be using it as a possible middle name

Julia- this is nice but again a family name

Therese- too exotic for me.

Lucinda- too exotic for me

Kathleen- family name, only being used as a middle name

Thanks again
