The name Emma is beautiful. It is quite popular, though, so you should be aware of that. Sienna is a little too trendy for me, plus it's the name of Toyota's minivan, so her friends will be driving in them and you may end up with one down the road. The Irish last name as first name is just not my thing. I guess it would be OK if Riley were a family name, but to be brutally honest, the Ryleigh spelling hurts my eyes.

Hi there,

My name is Sienna, I'm nearly 30 and I've always disliked my name. Love my parents, though...just have ALWAYS wished they'd given me a less trendyish name. For the last three years, I've had to grin at cracks made about the car too, which gets a little annoying. Therefore, I voted for Emma, but warnings there too as Emma and Emily are the two most popular names, and I assure you your daughter will very shortly become Emma D. Misspelling names isn't a good idea, either...you may find some negative stereotyping will happen, of both you and your daughter. That sounds a bit brutal, but trust me. I love the sounds of the names you've chosen, though, so I added some below that I thought you might like, that are less popular than Emma and less faddish than Sienna and Ryleigh.

It's getting close! Good luck!
-Sisi.

Like Sienna: Sarah, Sadie, Selene or Selena, Celeste, Susanna or Susannah, Siobhan (pron. shuh VON), Sinead (pron. shi-NAID), Cecilia, Cecily, Sophia. Also, Geneva reminds me of Siena, as they are both European cities, and the nicknames "Jenny" "Neve" or "Neva" are better than Sisi or Nana. Rory and Rowan both have the colour connotation (though I think of them as boy's names).

Like Emma/Emily: names related to Emilie are Eileen, Aileen, Amelia, Amelie and Mila. Names that sort of remind me of Emma/Emily in their sound or style are: Adele, Amy, Alice, Amabel, Annabel, Anne, Anneliese, Aurelie, Millie, Lily, Lilian, Imogen, Beatrice, Claire, Elise, Elodie, Esme, Flora, Frances, Helen, Helena, Ellen, Eleanor, Ella, Jane, Juliet, Louise, Lucy/Lucie, Margot/Margo, Margaret, Megan, Mireille, Muriel, Marielle, Miriam, Mabel/Mabelle, Maura, Maya/Maia, Sandrine, Sophie, Vivian, Zoe, Meredith, Miranda, Molly, Mia, Nora/Norah.

Ryleigh-like names: Rhiannon, Riona (pron. Reena), Robin/Robyn, Robina, Rowena, Rowan, Rory, Rose, Rosalind (from shakespeare's as you like it, i don't know why it isn't more popular), Ruby, Ruth.

Others I can't fit above, but I thought might suit your style: Bronwen, Briallen, Cerys or Carys, Gwyneth, Tegan, Wynne, Eve, Ciara (the original spelling of Keira or Kyra), Maeve, Niamh (pron. Neeve).

The names are all French, English, Irish or Welsh, and can probably be found at www.behindthename.com

wow, I hope you don't go with the top vote-getter there. Both Emily and Emma have been in the top five for about five years. they are EVERYWHERE

and Emma Leigh is no differnt than Emily

I think the only reason you got those votes is because you put that Emilie was your moms name, because lately on this board Emma and Emily have not been winning polls because everyone realizes they are both just too overused

I voted for Sienna Leigh

but if you really wanted to honor your Mom - what is her middle name?

Sienna Emily could work, biggest glitch to enn in Sienna and Em in Emily sound so alike.

seriously, don't add another Emma to these millions. - plus it's old-fashioned. Sienna is so new and fresh

good luck
