I'd like to use Rita as my daughter's middle name, to honor my grandmother. But I can't find a first name that sounds good with Rita! Any suggestions?

I found it hard to think of one too, but here goes a shot.....I found that they sounded better when they too stated with an R......or you could give her a first name of rita....whatever middle name you want....and call her by her middle name. Just a thought.

renee rita or rita renee
rachel rita
olivia rita

that is a hard one..

I am usually just a lurker here, but my sisters name was Rita Ellen, and my niece is named Rita Mary after both my older sisters.

Good luck,
Rae

Thank you for your suggestions! We really like Gabrielle, and I thought about naming her Rita Gabrielle. My husband doesn't like it and I'm not sold on it either. What do you think?

Rita Gabrielle is cute but they're not meshing well to me due to styles. Rita's heady, flirty but serious about it. Gabrielle is a bit more fluffy and less serious. I was just going to post saying I know a Rita Mariel which is similar.. maybe that will appeal?

That is a tough one, but I'll give it a shot. I haven't read the other posts, so sorry for any repeats, and I don't know your naming style, so I'll try to list a variety of names. My favorites are marked with a *.

Jocelyn Rita*
Delaney Rita
Madeline Rita
Morgan Rita
Mary Rita
Marilyn Rita
Jacqueline Rita*
Elizabeth Rita* (nn Lizzie, Liz, Eliza, Libby, Betsy, Beth)
Meredith Rita*
Carolyn Rita* (nn Carrie/Cara)

Using Rita as a first name...
Rita Paige*
Rita Faith
Rita Grace
Rita Katherine
Rita Kathleen*
Rita Danielle
Rita Michelle
Rita Elaine*
Rita Elise
Rita Lauren

I love the name Gabrielle/a. We named our 3rd dd Gabriella Noelle.
However, with Rita - it sounds just ok to me..
It seems as if you have an uneven flow to it
Ex:
Rita Michelle or even Rita Danielle
seems easier to say that Rita Gabrielle.

If it feels right - go with it :-)

I think if you like Gabrielle, go with your original idea of Rita as the middle name. Gabrielle Rita is easier than Rita Gabrielle. Lots of the Rita first name suggstions do look good. To add one more, Rita Marie. You could call her by both, but maybe that's just a southern thing...
"Rita Marie, get in here." Kinda works, right?
Good luck,
K

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions!

I have no idea what we'll end up doing... at least we have four months to figure it out!
