What would your current children (or future children) be named if you and you alone chose them (without having to worry about compromise with a DH, family, society, etc).? Just curious, as I was looking through my old name lists today as I cleared out the computer. 99% of the names there were vetoed by DH!
If I alone named my children, based on my top favorites at the time of their births, they would be named:
Ezra Ty-Thomas
Sebastian Charles
Jasper Wade or Phineas Wade (never could decide!)
I still love Ezra and Jasper, but I'm glad I didn't use Sebastian, as there are LOTS in our area now. I still love the sound of it though. Ty was a name I used to love, but didn't want to use on its own. I don't care much for it anymore! Jasper I still drool over (someone PLEASE use it!).
My actual children are:
Nathaniel Thomas
Calvin Charles
Tobias Wade
You can see that I got the most say on the middle names. They are all family names that I wanted. :) DH talked me down from my #1 first name choices, but that's ok. It's important to have names we both love.

If I got to name my future children on my own I would have.
DS-Caden Gage
DD-Rylie Cheyenne
Dawn
I'm with you on Jasper -- I love it so much. It's not right for me, but I adore it.
My top choices without taking into account anyone else's opinion:
Boys:
John Beckett (double name or "Beck")
William Fitzgerald ("Fitz")
Girls (all would primarily use their middle name):
Caroline Harper
Eleanor Graham
Vivian Blythe
Caroline Harper
Eleanor Graham
Vivian Blythe
Annie,
I think I've seen your girl choices (or some of them) before, but I love them all over again every time I see them! I LOVE the Vivian Blythe combo! Harper, Graham, and Blythe would be wonderful sisters! (And I don't even like unisex names, but somehow, Graham works!)
I guess I can post what my kids would have been had they been girls instead of boys (then I get to use my girl names!). I can't remember what girl names were on the list way back when, but I can use my list from my last pregnancy:
Joan Blythe, nn Joanie
Thanks! I have to say that right now my favorite of the bunch is Vivian Blythe, too. If it were a vacuum and the names didn't mean anything to me, it would be my number one right now. But Caroline was my grandmother's name. I've always wanted to name my first daughter after her. She passed away when I was 17 and that really confirmed that decision in my mind. So Caroline really HAS to be my first choice. And Caroline Harper has been my favorite combination for a solid ten years. To Kill a Mockingbird has been my favorite novel since I was twelve.
My love for Blythe comes from the Anne books as well. My mom named me after Anne of Green Gables (both of my names -- Meredith Anne -- come from the series, actually ) and they were a major part of my childhood. My mom read them to me until I was able to read them myself and they were among the first books I read to myself. I think using Blythe would be a wonderful way to pass that connection down without actually naming a child after myself.
Eleanor and Graham also has a lot of emotional significance for me. Vivian is the only name of the bunch that is on the list simply because I love it. All the others have an emotional connection.
I love your girls list (no surprise given how much I love your boys names!). Pippa is my favorite. I just think it's so precious. How cute would it be to have a sibling set of Jasper and Pippa?
Let's see I got my pick w/DS#1 Collin
DS#2 would have been Myles
DD#1 Hope Lili-Ann (I picked) but I really like Eliza
Christopher Rocco
Andrew Nicolas and
Emily Elizabeth
all named that I wanted. I just let him think he was helping pick out a name. LOL
Future children if I didn't have to take into account my husband's opinion, last name or trends.
Son: Brendan Ryley
Daughter: Terra Giselle
Dh's opinion wasn't a terrible problem (it did alter the naming slightly because he likes names with good meanings). He also had a set mn he wanted to use for our first son, but it was a name I
Ginger
I love Blythe too! My dad grew up in Blythe, CA and I love the Anne of GG books too. But hubby hates it. :(
So:
Blythe
Felicity
Lydia
Asher
Dylan
I'll think of some more here in a sec.
