I like it because it's easy to say, you rarely know more than 1 at a time, but it's not unusual.
There is not a single reason why I dislike my name.
I'm looking for a pretty/feminine name that can be broken into a cutsie nickname for her younger years. I would prefer it to be of Celtic origin. Yet, still fall into the category of my own name where you rarely know more than 1 at a time, but not too unusual.

Why do you like it? Marjorie is a derivative of Margaret, my grandmother's name, whom I was named after. I like my nn Jorie.
What don't you like about it? People have always tried to nn me Marge. And I've never been a fan of Lynn. Kinda blah
What are you looking for in a name? Not so much looking, just worrying/fretting over current decision for dd.
ONE - SINGLE - suggestion to the previous poster's 'what are you looking for in a name' Well even though you are just playing around with names, I know you love Margaret, so I'll support that name some more ;o)
Julien Violet
Why do you like it?
I hate it
What don't you like about it?
Julien is a french male name, meaning 'light beard'. Violet sounds like some old woman's name.
What are you looking for in a name?
Something that is easy to pronounce, but is unique & feminine.

With a lot of sites out there & many baby naming books, you'll find something that fits. Just don't curse the poor child with a name that sounds funny with your last name!

Why do you like it?
I get a lot of compliments. It's unusual but not weird. And it reflects my Quebecois heritage.
What don't you like about it?
Several things. 1) My name is not Elsie. I get called Elsie so, so many times. I HATE it. 2) My name is French. ee-LEEZE. Rhymes with please, knees, and cheese. Not lease or fleece. 3) People are starting to name their kids Elise!! Nooooo!
What are you looking for in a name?
Well, I don't want any kids, but I like names that are classic but not popular. I HATE trendy names.
Advice for previous poster: One of my favourite unique and feminine names that's easy to pronounce is Agatha. But you don't like old-fashioned names (Julien Violet is SO beautiful!), so I'd suggest Astoria, Serafina, and Wynne.
Elise
I like it because its pretty and goes well together...although is a little common
Im looking for a strong male name..preferably dutch or european...that does not start with F
i (obviously) have a daughter named Amalee..its pretty feminine and not popular in australia, i also like Willem and love the name Amelia
I like my name because it is just who I am.
I don't like my name because it is unisex. I don't have a thing against unisex names, but I am a very girly girl, and I think it would have suited a tomboy better. However, it is just who I am. My middle name is Leanne, and I have often wished I was Jayme Leanna, or Jemima Leanne instead.
I'm not expecting or TTC or even waiting to try at the moment. But I would like more children someday. I want something from both genders that sounds good with brothers Johnathan and Ethan as well as with the last name Bruce.
for the previous poster -- I love Amelia but not with sister Amalee. I prefer William to Willem.
How about Hans, Jozef, Niels, Vincent or Xander
Jayme Leanne, wife to Corey McClellan and mom to Johnathan Corey and Ethan James
I love my name. Must admit it was a bit of a mouthful as a kid.
My cousins name is Shallon.
She loves her name and everyone who meets her comments on it.
I am not sure of the origin. And to date I have never met anyone else with her name.
It's unique. It's cute, femine. Everything I look for in a girls name.
I have one son Bailey John, and am expecting early next year. I like Kira Louise, and my husband likes Tori Elizabeth. No arguements if we have a boy Kieran.
I've always liked my name. It's pretty common but until a couple years ago, I never really met any in school. Now one of my best girlfriends is a Michelle. My parents named me Michelle in order to call me by the NN Shelly (after a friend). At the age of 10, I thought I was too mature to be a Shelly, so I insisted on being called Michelle. About 5 years ago, I tried going back to Shelly but all my friends said no way - I was a Michelle. So . . . I like Shelly too.
I'm not pregnant yet (we aren't trying until next spring) but I like to think about names. My personal choice is a classic, old fashioned name (or atleast not common). I want a name that isn't 1 of 5 in a class.

How about "Drew" for the D name needed?
I used to hate it..it was very popular in the 70's so there were usually others in my class. Usually all spelled differently, too, which drove me crazy. Hated being "Carrie with a C"...
In junior high, my name was ripe with teasing options...Care Bear, "Carrie is so Very..." (remember the shampoo commercial???), etc.
Now, I LOVE my name! Sometimes I do wish I had the formal name of Caroline as well.
I am not pregnant...TTC #3. I am looking for a biblical or spiritual name that is not too common (last name is Smith) or possibly a name to honor my Scandinavian heritage. Siblings are Caleb Matthew and Zion Robert.
Classic, old-fashioned name for the previous poster...some that I like are Lydia, Anna, Margaret, and Corinne.
For boys, how about James, Edwin, Tobias, or Martin?
I like my name because like everyone else says it's not too common but it's not really weird either. I only knew 2 other Andrea's growing up. Wasn't too short or too long to keep me busy in K-garten.
I don't like my name becuase of people asking me how to pronounce it all the time. Is it AN-dree-ah? AUHN-dre-ah? or an-DRAY-ah? Grrrr!
What I'm looking for in a name? Well I'm not TTC for another 3-4 years but it's nice to think about it, and also to watch my tastes change over time. Right now I like original names, easy to pronounce and not too old fashioned. I already have three children, Zoe Morgan, Christopher Jacob and Kally Renee. Our last name is very french and very long/hard to pronounc but it sounds like VEEN-YO when said correctly. Need a girl and boy name. First and middle.
Suggestion for previous poster: Girl: Nora Laraine Boy: Edgar Amos (classic and old fashion IMO) Good luck TTC in the spring Michelle!
