I'm just curious what everyone else’s top 5 favorite boy/girl names list looks like.
Mine changes frequently, but right now it looks like this:
Boy’s (not including my ds, Griffin, which I’ve already used so I don’t consider it in my current list)
1.Callum-FYI dh hates this one
2.Declan
3.Rafferty
4.Silas
5.Taggert- dh HATES this one too

Girls:
1.Tallula
2.Cordelia
3.Romilly
4.Felicity- dh HATES this one
5.Isadora

Dh was willing to play too, but not for the full top 5…
Boy:
1.Declan
2.Dylan
3.Atticus

Girl:
1.Eudora
2.Sabine
3.Delia
4.Tallula

For Alexander, have you thought about using Alec or Xander/Zander as a nn? It could solve the "Alex S." problem and allow you to keep a favorite on your list.

What a fun idea for a thread!

I have not given my top fives any serious thought because we tend to take it one baby at a time, but these are my favorites without DH's input. We tend to disagree a lot.

Girls

1. Georgiana - this is my absolute favorite name in the entire world. I won't actually use it for a girl because chances are she'll despise me for it until she's an adult, but I just adore this name.

2. Iris

3. Lilyth - this is a traditional Anglo-Saxon spelling, not just my own way of putting a y in a name where it doesn't belong. I would also use Lillyth.

4. Daphne

5. Rebecca

Looks like you may well end up with a Declan or Tallula, Annie. ;) Love your lists, btw!

Mine look like this (although the top three of each are fairly

4. Leonora Sinead or Ceridwen Eleanor. Eleanor was my favourite form of that name, but I recently read a book *romance novel* in which the leading lady's name was Leonora. Now I can't decide which of the two I prefer.

Soma,

Just wondering if you'd considered the Leanora form. Said like Leonora, but directly from Eleanor. A very literal meeting of the two. Thought I'd throw it out there as yet another consideration. LOL

I'm not sure if I can come up with a full complement...I've actually stopped at the number of kids we're likely to have (3), but let's see what I can pull out of my magic hat...

Boys:
1) Hale Shepherd Scott (my brother's middle name is Scott)
2) Ford William Amos (Amos was my grandmother's brother)
3) Knox Jasper something--maybe Lawrence (my father's mn, but he hates it, so maybe not...)

Girls:
1) (I'm not telling) Morwenna Deborah (Morwenna is my FIL's favorite name)
2) Averil Dinah Adair (Ada was my father's grandmother)
3) May Willow Cleone (Cleone was my grandmother, it's also my mom's mn)
4) Fern Ilona Jemima (Ilona is the Finnish form of Helen, my MIL's name--she's Finnish)

I love Georgiana! I never really considered it until I read Pride & Prejudice, lol.

I went to hs with a girl named Grainne, except she spelled it Grania. I assume her parents wanted to make pronunciation easier, though that just caused some people to call her "Gray-nee-uh."

(edited because I just read your other post)

I've never seen the Leanora spelling. It's really quite pretty!
