I've got to agree with the previous posters that it reminds me of poison gas.


It doesn't look like an ethnic name to me -- it just looks made up.


There's a Welsh name, Seren, that you might like, or the Persian name Shirin (shireen).

For me, no nationality or background comes to mind -- Saryn looks to me like a modern, sort of made-up name of the Kaylyn/Jaelyn/Ashlyn/Jazlyn variety.

It seems very "modern-American" to me, akin to all the other "-yn" names that have become so popular. The only problem with this one is that it also reminds me of the word "Satyr"...

I'm from the UK and have known two Saryns and a Taryn so I can only think of them, not sure where the name originates but I always thought it was very pretty.
