Where do you begin with narrowing down names?

I've just found out I was pregnant about two weeks ago but I haven't seen my doctor yet. She doesn't want to see me for a few more weeks, which I don't understand really. My boyfriend and I have so many names we would like to name our baby and everyone in both families are throwing names at us. I am freaking out over this. What kind of mother am I going to be when I am getting this crazy over the baby's name.

Personally I don't think some people take enough time thinking about baby names with the odd ones being used out there. ;) For us, we had a battle with our second baby. Boy names were the hardest and caused all out wars. Serious walking out, slamming door wars. When we found out it was a girl, it was the best thing because that was much, much easier. Best of luck to you!!

Congratulations! You have quite a while before you absolutely have to have it narrowed down so take your time and enjoy this part of having a baby. What I did was make a list of all the names, first and middle, we were thinking of and their meanings. (The meanings of names are very important to me). Slowly we crossed names off the list as we thought about them and said them over and over.

Do you have any names you are currently leaning towards?

One very important thing to keep in mind.  You won't be wearing the name someone else will be.  Odd or strange names could have very negative meanings in other languages or be difficult to spell.  Beware of rhyming.
