Which "Anna" name do you like best?

Forget the trends in this case, especially since I don't know anyone with the following names. I don't like the names "Anne" or "Ana" on their own because they are so plain, yet I really LOVE any name that has that sound in it. So, which "Anna" name(s) do you like best? Also, please feel free to suggest more that I haven't thought of.

Anabelle
Anabella
Hannah
Analiese (I think this is my personal favorite aside from Anabelle, but my last name starts with an S...will it run together?)
Brianna
Gianna
Lilianna
Luciana

I like Hannah, Lilianna (I prefer Liliana), and Luciana the best. If your last name starts with the "sh" sound I wouldn't be bothered by using Analiese, but if it is the "s" sound I probably wouldn't use it myself.

Good Luck!

I love Hannah, despite it being very popular.

I also really like Liliana, but I don't like it as much with two NNs (of course, that means it's pronounced ana, not anna, so I suppose that defeats the purpose).

I would spell it Anneliese (this is the actual spelling of the name, and I just think it's prettier), not Annaliese, but I think it is lovely. I don't think it sounds too bad with an S ln, not ideal perhaps, but if you like it, you shouldn't shy away from it because of that.

I like Anabelle and Analiese best, although I prefer Annabel and Anneliese. With an S last name, I think I'd go with Anabelle. Analiese S_____ might be heard as Analee S_____.

Thanks for your responses! Analiese is the German way of spelling it and my DH is part german and I'd like to spell it that way (if we choose that name at some point) bc of the cultural tie.

Anabelle, Analiese and Hannah are my top faves I think.

A previous poster mentioned the spelling of Annabel versus Anabelle. Just looking at those two names side by side, I like the poster's way of spelling it Annabel better! Thanks so much!!!

Well, I do love just Anna, but my favorite longer Anna name is Annabel (I really only like it spelled this way).

I like Brianna and Gianna the best of your list

I like Anneleise a little, but I would not do it with a last name that starts with S

Hannah is OK - I really dislike all the others because they are too old-fashioned to me and I'm not into the older names

good luck

Actually, Anneliese is the correct German spelling. ^_^;; In German, when a word ends with -e, it's an -ah sound. Anne Frank's name, for instance, sounds like Ah-nah, or Ann-uh. Another example is the German translation of the word 'please.' Bitte is pronounced "bit-tuh."

I love Anna names. Here are my thoughts.

Anabelle- I prefer the Annabel or Annabelle spelling (double "n"). To me, Anna is pronounced "ANN-uh" and Ana is "ON-uh", so this would be "ON-uh-belle". Annabel is lovely and sweet with a country feel.
Anabella- I prefer the simplicity of Annabel, and again, prefer the Annabella spelling
Hannah- Love it, although prefer Annabel because I hear it less
Analiese - I don't like this name at all because of the spelling you have used. Annelise or Anneleise is lovely, although I do dislike it with an S last name
Brianna- eh, okay. Definitely not nearly as nice as the others
Gianna- see Brianna
Lilianna- waaay too popular
Luciana- very pretty. Love the nn Lucy
