Forget the trends in this case, especially since I don't know anyone with the following names. I don't like the names "Anne" or "Ana" on their own because they are so plain, yet I really LOVE any name that has that sound in it. So, which "Anna" name(s) do you like best? Also, please feel free to suggest more that I haven't thought of.

Anabelle
Anabella
Hannah
Analiese (I think this is my personal favorite aside from Anabelle, but my last name starts with an S...will it run together?)
Brianna
Gianna
Lilianna
Luciana

I love Annabel Maeve. Mae's not my favorite--exactly because it does sound awfully "country" to my ears, but I think Maeve is sophisticated and beautiful. What a difference a V makes, eh? ^.^

Oh, it just occurred to me. Have you and dh thought about Johanna? I really love it, and it's of German origin as well.

I actually have thought of that name, but I have so many friends named Johanna, Joanne, Joanna, Jo and a lot of family members named Joseph that it just is too "used" in my family, KWIM?

It is beautiful though, thanks for the suggestion :)

Well considering my name is a form of "Anna." My real name is Annoula - it's Greek and pronounced ah-nou-lah. But I would go with Hannah or Joanna.
