Who knows a child named Oscar?

My husband and I are 5 weeks (or less) away from having our second child. We don't know the sex, but I think it is another boy (our son's name is Samuel, we mostly call him Sam). We both really love the name Oscar but don't want to doom him to a life of being called Oscar the Grouch. If you have a child named Oscar or know of someone with this name, please let me know if they have been scarred for life or if it's been no big deal. I am not interested so much in opinions, just actual experiences with children with this name. Thanks!

Ok, I don't know anyone with this name either, but I have to tell you that I absolutely LOVE the name Oscar. (I know you said you weren't really interested in opinions...but I have a good opinion, so I just have to share it and hopefully you won't mind too much!)
When I was pregnant, my husband and I strongly considered Oscar, but we ended up having a girl, and I must confess, we did have another boy's name picked out at the end of the pregnancy, but basically because there was another boy's name that we both strongly favored. I can remember being really nervous even telling my husband that I liked the name Oscar, but he thought it was a terrific name. I said, "Aren't you worried about teasing nicknames?" My husband felt however, that boys can make fun of ANY name (and that it builds character. He should know. His name is Earl). I would pick out a name, and he would see what outrageous nicknames or teasing he could come up with, just to prove it to me. (I won't go into them all here, but it was a very funny moment.)
I do have one suggestion though. You might want to consider the nickname Ozzie for a little boy. It might eliminate the "Oscar the Grouch" nickname. (And Oscar Meyer weiner). I think Ozzie is an adorable nickname, though perhaps it isn't your style.
Please let us know what you decide.
Cara
I went to junior high and high school with an Oscar.
He was friends with pretty much everyone and everyone seemed to really love him - he was a total sweetheart and and absolute blast to spend time with.
His name never held an "Oscar the Grouch" connotation while I knew him, but of course, we were older (kids from around 13-18).
I say, go ahead with it. If you like the name, don't let some silly trash-monster slow you down!
Well I have three little Oscar / Oscar I know and I have 6 older Oscar I know.
In Sweden Oscar has been a popular name for a while now and Oscar
