My c-section is in a month and we don't have a boy or girls name picked (gender is a surprise).

AJ, enjoying life with C.
I think William is too bland for a sibling to Rhett (I love that) and a girl named Lyle (have never known that crossed over to being unisex)
I don't like Fox even for a middle name - I'd use the William in the middle with a nice first name
here are some 1-syllables
Brent William (eh, maybe too close to Rhett)
Bryce/Brice William (very good with Rhett)
Brock William (I personally am not crazy for that, but you might be)
Clay William (nice)
Dwight William (I'VE always like this, but I know it's disliked on this board for some reason)
Gage William (real nice with Rhett)
Grant William
Kelly
I really like it! I would even like Wilkes as an actual given name (for a boy) even though it's not my typically naming style, if Wilkes is a family name.
Great choice!
It's one of the best "original" or uncommon names I've seen on the board lately.
Thank you all so much for your responses.
I wouldn't be into Wilkes as the given name, but I love it as a nickname for William Fox! I agree with the PP that said it will certainly set him apart from all the other Wills, Liams, Bills, etc. I like that it's sort of a combination (of the sounds, at least) of both the first and middle names. I also love that it's still a nod to Gone With the Wind, without being too obvious. Good thing your daughter isn't named Scarlett! LOL.
Anyway, I think you have a fantastic name! And if he later decides Wilkes isn't something he cares for, he has the more classic William or Will to go back to. I think this shows a little extra foresight on your part, giving him more options for when he gets older.
Congratulations on finding "the" name!
(Oh, and a lot of people may just associate it with John Wilkes Booth, but I hope you don't let that put you off. If people avoided names just because of negative associations some other people may make, that would really narrow most people's options! The people who know your child personally are the only ones whose opinions matter, and after a (most likely short) while, they'll come to have a more positive association of the name because of him.)
