Part of me would say yes, the other says no. As I have said many times before, that is the reason I don't share our name choices with anyone until after the little one has arrived and is named, that way, what can they say then? NO matter what you name the child, grandma will grow to love the name just as she grows to love that baby more each and every day!
Probably not. My daughter is Sarah Eleanor. When we first told my mom (my daughter is named for HER mother) she called her Sarah Elizabeth several times. When I reminded her that she was named for her mother Eleanor she said (I just can't imagine Eleanor on a baby". Oh well. It probablyhelped that I LOVED (and still love almost 7 years later) the name!
Not really. When we mentioned our two name choices last time around, she clearly "preferred" one over the other (meaning she basically said she hated the other one lol). However, a few weeks later when our daughter was born and we had happened to choose the name she didn't like, she said it was a beautiful name that fit her new granddaughter perfectly. In fact, when I mentioned to her once that she hadn't liked the name the first time we'd mentioned it, she said "What? I don't remember saying that ... well I just love it now. I can't imagine her named anything else!" And neither can we. ;)
So, in short, go with what you like. She'll come around.
NO! My mom probably isn't going to like any name I choose... She don't many names PERIOD. And she sure does not care to voice her opinion.... She will let ya know if its disgusting.. But I don't care. As I see it she got to name me and now I can name my babies.

NOPE! She'd just have to get over her issue with the name.
