Would love some name ideas...
| Sun, 01-23-2005 - 5:55pm |
We have two girls and a baby (sex unknown) due in July. Looking for some names boy or girl that go with the two we have: Alexys Marya and Aleya Myshel. I like unique spellings. Have been thinking about Alysa Marquie for a girl. Kolton Michael was our boy choice for the second one, but we haven't come up with anything yet. Please give me some ideas. Thanks a million!!
PS: (Last name Stibbe)

Hi and congrats on your growing family.
Alot of people dont like unique spellings as I have been finding out! But, I think it gives uniqueness to popular names. So thumbs up to you.
I am just concerned that Aleya and Alysa are too much alike. But I do love the name and it means princess. How can you go wrong with that?
Some suggestions for you (A name with Y somewhere in there):
Alyson Marina
Alayna Miette
Anikya Maurine
Alyvia Macyn
Abygail Mariah
Ashlyn Micah
Adryiana/Adryana
Adyson/Addyson Mai
Avaly Makenna
Abreya Merydith
Aubrey Maleah
Adriya Maren
Adalyn Makenzie
Why not keep the A, going for a boy?
Ayden Michael?
Ayron Michael?
Abram Michael?
I'm all for families who start names with the same letter, I think it can be a neat idea, but those three names are way too close for all three to be in the same family
here are some other A possibilities: Amber, Aubrey, Amy, Amelia, Angela, Anya.
Alexys and Aleya together isn't too bad, but putting Alysa in there - it has some of the same sounds as Alexys and some of the same as Aleya, it's just all too much.
sorry. good luck
To be honest, I am not a fan of either unique spellings or siblings having the same first letter of the first names. However, I think you do have good taste. Aleya is a favorite of mine (Aleah). Marya is also pretty. An idea I have is for you to move to the next letter of the alphabet- B - and maybe keep an M- mn. Also, might you consider a unique name instead of a unique spelling?
Here are my suggestions-
Briony (bree-uh-nee) Maleese, Bianca Mallory, Brynna Marisol, Briella Minette, Brinley Marissa, Brantley Margo, Brina Meredith, Bekka Miriam, Brandice Maryn, Bethany Maura
Other unique names that would sound good with Alexys & Aleya-
Cadence, Trilby, Sabina, Lashley, Pilar, Fallon, Raina, Sienna, Jordi, Dacey
& if you must do another A-, I like with the siblings-
Amity, Ayla, or Anndraya
Other suggestions-
Aydree, Ayla, Aybree, Ambree, Ansley, Annalyn, Anslynn, Aidria, Ashlynn,
For a boy, I would keep the M- mn- I personally love Michael.
With Alexys & Aleya, I like-
Bryson, Brigham, Bridger, Brandt, Braxton, Brighton, Bennett
or - Pierce, Trevor, Keegan, Collin, Hart/Hartley, Trace, Ryder, Jorgan, Jantzen, Ridge, Maddox, Stefan
Let us know what you think! Good luck, Ginger
Hi, I've always liked unusual spellings also, but probably won't ever use any of them for the rest of my children. Although, there was a name that I have always loved - unusual spelling included...instead of the spelling Anaya, which means "look up to God," I came up with Aniyah. I wanted to add a Y into the name somewhere because my name is Yolanda - silly, I know, but I think the name is beautiful. As for an M middle name...how about Marysa or Maryssa? Aniyah Marysa sounds great I think. Just a suggestion! Good luck!

Congratulations!
I really like the name Alysa, however, I may be a bit prejudice since my dd's name is Alysa Marie. We pronounce it a-LIHS-ah. How will you be pronouncing it? Anyway, I do agree with some of the other posts that the name may be too close to the name Aleya. Just curious, how do you pronounce that name?
As far as your boys name goes, I really like Kolton Micheal.
Good luck!
Janet
