Hi There! I've posted and lurked on this board for 5 months... Now I need your help! We have a 2 year old named NATALIE and would like your advice on a very pretty girl name that goes well with a sister Natalie...

For now we really like:

Emily
Ashlynn
Ashley

Can you give me your thoughts on those names? Which is your favorite? And do you have any suggestions?

Thank you very very much!

I would go with something that has 3 syllables like Natalie, and has the same sort of flow. Hillary is a really good suggestion, since this name is rarely used but pretty. Meredith, Andrea, and Amelie are other suggestions!

I wanted to name my first Ashleigh Lynn. But had a boy and another and yet another so I never got to use the name. I think the Emily in any spelling is over used. But I like Ashlyn too. Good luck and advice is nice but in the end it it you that has to yell the name out the door at the the top of your lungs and call her in for dinner. The reason I wouldn't let my let my husband choose the name he wanted for any of our kids. Embarassing!

I love Ashley. Emily is too popular and Ashlyn is too unisex imo to go with Natalie. Natalie is a beautiful name and she is adorable!

I'm lurking for my dd who is due with her baby girl in Nov.. I love the name Emily I have a 6yr old Emily and when I named her it was not that popular at least not where we live it wasn't.

I have 4 dd's

Jessica Gayle Anne who is 16yrs old and due Nov 8th with dgd
Brittany Tyler Dianne who is almost 14yrs old
Sarah Elizabeth Irene who is almost 11yrs old and
Emily Keitha Colleen who is 6yrs old..

they go by Jessi or Jess, Britt, Sar, and Emmi

dd is thinking about Lillian Renae for her dd.. she'll call her Lillie

I like your choices - Ashlyn is a derivative of the Irish name Ashling which means vision or dream...I met two Ashlings when visiting Ireland. Another pretty Irish name is Kayley which means slender!
Best Wishes!

Hi Sassy Wife,
I read your message and wanted to give you some feedback. I think you should go with Ashlynn. It is such a beautiful name. I am trying to get pregnant and have really debated on if I have a girl naming her Ashlynn. My sister's name is Ashley so I have wondered whether or not it would be OK to have an Ashley and an Ashlynn in the family.
But enough about that. Just know that you have one vote for Ashlynn.
Thanks,
Amy

I think each of the names you have chosen are adorable, however, I would like to suggest Aemelie, pronounced am-uh-lee. Natalie/Aemelie. I think they work well together. My husband and I considered Aemelie before we settled on naming our first girl after his great aunt and my 3rd cousin, Elizabeth Lily. Granted, her initials will spell ELF, but we think this is adorable. We have had no children as yet, but we have a girl and boy name picked out for each of our first. Maybe as a middle name for Aemelie, you could use Lyn. Aemelie Lyn. Thank you for hearing my ideas. Much love, Autumn Dale Cardiff
