Would you consider these as FN's?

Hey all, I hope everyone is well!!
I have a question... Would you consider Kindred as a first name or leave it in the dictionary? What about the spelling Kendred? Does it make a difference? And if you had to pick would you say boy/girl or either? I'm also thinking of Kinley for a boy, any opinions?
Thanks so much

Definitely leave it in the dictionary!

Yes, it does make a difference. Now it's misspelled. (Not being rude, just honest LOL)

I'd actually go with adjective, but if boy or girl are my only choices I'd say girl. It definitely sounds like one of the old Puritan type names, like Lamentation Fellowship or Repent-Lest-Ye-Burn-In-Hellfire.
As to Kinley, I'd first assume the name was a reference to Mt. McKinley or President McKinley. Still, on it's own, Kinley seems to fit with the current feminine trends toward K names, surnames and any name ending in -ley or -lyn.

Kindred is an adjective, not a name. Don't like it. If I'm giving honest impressions, if I saw the name Kindred written down, I'd assume that her middle name was Spirit, and that her parents were either 15 years old or members of some strange cult. Or perhaps both.
As for Kinley, I could definitely get used to it. I knew a guy in high school named McKinley (his grandmother's maiden name). He went by Mac, but I always really liked the full name. I definitely see Kinley as a male name, though others may disagree.
Thanks!
I thinking the same about Kindred, but I was making sure I wasn't too off. I do like how it sounds but I know it could never be a child's FN. Kinley is really growing on me be it does seem too girly considering how name trends are going. I guess the search will continue for a K name for a boy.

Funny,
I know someone with a boy named Kindred. But I agree with pps.

I've only ever heard Kindred as a last name. No, I wouldn't use it as a fn, and I personally don't think Kendred is much better. I'd rather see Kenneth or Kenton. And b/c of all the other K___y girl names, Kinley seems like a girl name to me. It's just too close to Kelsey, Carly, Kenzie, Kelly, Kylie, etc.
Here are some more K boy names if you're looking for ideas... (is there a reason it has to be a K?)

Karson

Kyle
Kyler

Sorry I couldn't be more positive!

I like Kinley... for a girl.
As for Kindred, sorry but that is NMSAA. Leave it to the dictionary!

I love McKinley or Kinley but I may be biased as I have a DD named McKinley Rae. It is a male name traditionally (Muddy waters (blues guitarists name).
How about Kale?
