I prefer Gemma Day, solely because of what you mentioned about Grace. It is overdone, but even more than that, to me it is bringing the combo down. If I see a first name I love (like Gemma) paired with mn Grace, I love it a little less.
I have a son named Gabriel Driscoll... never occurred to me about the initials GD ... so yes I would use those initials. We don't say GD (the words) in our house, but even if it would have occurred to me before we named him that I still think we would have picked it.
I like Gemma Day for you as it seems like it has meaning. It's also pretty unexpected which I also am beginning to like.
G.D. wouldn't bother me at all - it took me a minute to even figure out what anyone's objection to it would be.
Swear words *** dammit.
Me neither!
I prefer Gemma Day.
