Would you use a name if...

it didn't sound great with your last name? We're just TTC right now, but we have a girl name that we both LOVE. Unfortunately, it doesn't flow well with our last name. We are totally in love with the name Talulla, although thus far everyone we know HATES it. Our last name is Lucier (pro like Lou-see-ay. What are your thoughts on this...Would you use a name you loved regardless of how it sounds with your ln or pick something else you may not love as much, but has a better flow?
Thanks,
Annie

good luck!
I probably wouldn't.
Good luck,
Tracy
We're not sure of a nn yet. Mostly because we're not totally set on using Talulla. There are a few other names we've tossed around- Cordelia, Delilah, Phoebe, but we keep coming back to Talulla. We definitely wouldn't use Lulu though. Lulu Lucier is just wrong!

I'm just not a huge fan of hyphenating so we won't do that. We will use a mn, but don't have a mn picked just yet. It will be either Rosemary (my mom), Edith (dh Grandmother) or Sally (our dearest friend who passed away) or some mixture of those names like Meredith or Rosalie.
Thanks for the suggestions though!

I couldn't do it - Lu-LA-LU????? that's the sound you'll hear as you're going from the first name to the last name

I haven't read the responses but I personally would not use a first name that did not sound good with the last name. It just sets them up for years of ridicule, because us as the parent, like the name. Our last name ends in "in" so I ruled out all names that end in 'in' and start with the 1st letter of our last name. That eliminated a lot of names we really like, but I don't want the child growing up tortured either! Kids can be cruel. JMO!
