The name Zipporah. I have been throwing this name back and forth for awhile and would like to have you opinions on it. Anyone have any middle name suggestions?Nickname suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated!!

I'd have to say NO. The nn Zippy comes to mind and is not very appealing.

I don't care for it. The only nn I think of is Zippo--isn't that a lighter? Or Zippo Hippo. It's too out there for my taste...

I think the nn Pippa would be adorable!

I don't like it-- Zippy is the only nn that seems appropriate and it's not very appealing. Have you considered:

Zara (the coolest Z name ever)
Zorah
Zoe
Zahara
Zoey
Zellia

I love this name when pronounced Zi-POR-uh; I've seen ZIP-uh-ruh as an alternate pronunciation, but I'm not wild about that. I don't know any Zipporahs personally, but I know of a judge named Zipporah, and I seriously doubt that anyone calls her Zippy! I would use a short middle name with a long vowel sound, and nothing that starts with an ah or uh sound so as to have a nice flow from the ah ending of Zipporah. I liked a previous poster's suggestion of Zipporah Jade. I also like Zipporah Rose.

I wouldn't use any nickname for this name - I don't think it needs one, and I wouldn't be persuaded by anyone saying it needs one b/c it's long - - after all, Elizabeth has four syllables, and while many Elizabeths have nicknames, many others go by Elizabeth, and that works just fine.

Anyway, great choice in my opinion and good luck with your decision.
