Your *real* name and your nn.....

Nicknames are interesting to me. So far for my boys, I have picked names that you can't shorten to nicknames (Brendan and Aaron)--not really done intentionally, but it was a thought.

But what is your real name as opposed to your nickname??

Mine--Theresa is my real name but family and those who have known me since very early grade school call me Terrie.

My son Aaron--only I call him "my little bear" or now I just say "bear" when I need him quick. Annoying probably in another year or so.......he's only 2 now so I can still get away with it.

So, what about you????

My name is Jodi, but for some reason I get called "Kat" by my family & close friends. Other people, mostly those I work with, call me Jode. I have one crazy old best friend who calls me Jodester, only she can get away with that. LOL

My DH is Jason, he goes by Jake, except at work.

My DD is Jayda. Her nn is JJ, given by her friends at school.

Then there is Joel. Most of the family & our close friends call him Joelman.

Great question, it was interesting to see the different nn.

My given name is Terri Jo (yes, I'm from the south!) but as the story goes, I was the 4th baby so my mom let my dad name me, and he gave me the name Terri Jo but stated (in the hospital) that I would go by TJ. And I have for 35 years now! Though my teachers called me Terri until I was out of grade school, because that was on my school records and I wasn't brave enough at that point to correct them :)

I'm Heidi, and for the most part, I'm just plain Heidi to people, but some shorten it to Heid, some lengthen it to Heidi-Ho, and I even worked at a restaurant once where the entire staff called my H-E-I-D-I.

My Little Man.  His name is Kaleb Pershing - we call him KP.

My name is Kathryn but no one calls me that...it's Katie. Thought it would just be a childhood nickname but now it would seem awkward to call myself Kathryn.

My name is Kristie and my nickname is Wink or winkmyer or wink-a-boo. When i was really little me and my dad would do butterfly kisses (where you put your eye lashes together and blink a lot) and it has stuck for over 15 years.

My name is Rebecca but I only get called that by my grandparents and official people (e.g. when I was school, the teachers called me Rebecca). I've always been Becky as far back as I can remember and I used to hate being called Rebecca but now I quite like it (even though I'm still Becky to everyone!)

Friends have called me Becks or Beckla and my DH calls me Bebe (My initials before marriage were Becky B).

My DD is called Caitlin and she gets called Kate or Katie but her name is short enough to use in full. My DS is called Alexander and he goes by Alex, although when he was little we used to call him Alexander Panda!

My daughter's name is Ella. So far we've managed to call her Ell, Ellie, and Josephine (middle name).

My name is Victoria, but I have been Vicki as long as I can remember. I really don't like it - but it is hard to change. :( I just tell myself, it could be worse...
