Hi All-
Love it or Hate it...What are your thoughts on Milla. And do you say
"Meal-a" or Mill-a".. Although we were not looking for a Finnish name, I also learned Milla was Finnish and I am 1/2 Finnish so I thought that was pretty cool... And it is growing on me, I think it is cute. DH was the first to suggest it. But please be honest, as I know you will. Thanks - Tara

A friend of mine's daughter's name is Milla pronounced "Meal-a". She's a very cute blonde. I think it's a different and cute name. :)

Haven't made up my mind yet on how much I like it or not but I would pronounce it "Mill-uh". It's certainly not a bad name!

With that spelling I would prnounce it Mill-a, spelled Mila I would pronounce it Meal-a. I think it is pretty, but would like it much better as a nn for Camilla.

I think Milla's cute. I would pronounce it like Meal-a, sounds more exotic that way ;).

Milla: abbreviation from Emilia. (I hope abbreviation is the right word to describe what I'm after)

Beautiful name, I like it. There are 7489 people here in Finland who's first, second or thrid name is (or was) Milla.

That girl, Jackie, who is on "That 70's Show" - her name is Mila, pronounced "Meal-a". If you want that pronunciation, I'd spell it with one l. "Milla" is close to "Millie", which I think people would relate the short "i" sound to. I like it - we are naming our daughter due next week, Amelia, so it is a similar sound. It's very pretty, especially since you have the Finnish heritage, it would be a name special to your daughter as well, I think.

Good luck!
