Look at the new list, the post is called "Help us decide!" Thanks!
Here's my list, what do you think? Sister is Sally, in case you didn't read my last post. We want the name to be kind of distinctive (I've always enjoyed having a name that wasn't all that common, but wasn't "weird"), and we want it to be a similar style to Sally without being "matchy." New suggestions are welcome, especially for boy's names!
Jill (definately not Jillian!)
Elaine
Rose
Irene
Amelia
Georgia
Daphne (ends with "ee," so maybe not)
Jane
Edward
Arthur
Dennis
Oliver
George

Here are my thought on the girls list:
Jill - I could not think of a more perfect match with Sally! What a great combo, I love it.
Elaine - ehh this ok, not my favorite
Rose - I love this. So common as a mn, but not so much as a fn.
Irene - nms
Amelia - This is getting VERY hot in my area. People like the nn Mia. I would avoid if you want a less popular name
Georgia - pretty, but not my favorite with Sally
Daphne - the repeating EE sound is a bit much
Jane - another great option. I really like this one! Sally and Jane look very nice together.
Good luck,
Brooke
I posted most of these above, but not sure if you saw them. I added a few more. Sorry if they're repeats.

If you want a name that's not all that common, I don't think these will work:
Amelia - one of the most common names for young girls in my area
Elaine - Elaine itself isn't that common, but various names that start with "el" or have "laine" or "lainey" as nn are becoming very popular
Rose - one of the most common middle names and it's growing in popularity as a fn, along with other flower names like Lily
From what's left:
Jill
My favs for you:
Rose OR
Jane
Edward OR
George
Thank you (and Baylorbrooke as well!) for the heads up on Amelia, Elaine, and Rose, and many thanks to everyone who's made suggestions and comments so far!
At this point I think my favorites for a girl are Jill and Jane. Jane sounds kind of common/generic, but I've been thinking about it and I don't actually know anyone named Jane! Someone suggested the name Janet; I think that might be quite nice too.
The names on the top of my list for a boy are George and Dennis. These names, Sally, Dennis, George, Janet, and Jane, all have a kind of aura about them that I really like. I'm not quite sure how to describe it. Retro maybe? Maybe they remind me of characters from old children's books?
Hi there.
Sally is such a cute name!
Here are my thoughts on this list:
Jill (definately not Jillian!)-This is fine. I too prefer Jill to Jillian w/big sister Sally.
Elaine-This is nice. Lainey is a cute nn too.
Rose-That's a classic. I like it a lot. Would you call her Rosie? That'd be perfect w/Sally.
Irene-This is refreshing & works well w/Sally.
Amelia-I really love this, but should warn you that it might be getting a bit popular.
Georgia-That's nice. It's not my favorite, but it's a perfectly good name.
Daphne (ends with "ee," so maybe not)-This is sweet, but I'm not sure that the style really fits w/Sally anyway.
Jane-Yes. Excellent.
I like Amelia best from this list, but in the interest of getting a less than common name I'd choose Rose. Jane is in a close second.
Here are some more girl suggestions: (sorry for any repeats)
Audra
Alice
Adele
Bridget
Clara
Cora
Eve
Florence
Greta
Ivy-I know it ends in an 'e' sound, but it's very nice w/Sally & in general.
June
Kathleen
Lucy-Aw, see Ivy!
Matilda
Nora
Pearl
Phoebe-Hm...it's still nice.
Tess(a)
Violet
Willa
Here are my thoughts on the boys:
Edward-I like that. It's classic & not to common. The nn Ned would be adorable w/Sally.
Arthur-Very handsome. I love Artie too.
Dennis-Alright, alright. I don't love it, but it's different these days.
Oliver-Cute, but I'm seriously seeing them everywhere.
George-I like this in theory.
Here are some boy suggestions:
Archer
Abbott
Bennett

Henry-It ends in an 'e', sorry. LOL.
