I would not.

Question 2: Would you use a friend's surname as a first or middle name?

I would not.

Question 3: Go to the site below and with surname checked off and 25 in the "names to return" box, enter random, but still normal queries into the other boxes. Would you use any of the names returned as first or middle names?

I would use Weston, Rowe, Rose, Rhodes, Powell, and Porter.

I've met one person - male (early 20s) whose first name was the same as my surname. I'm not crazy about it as a first name but it's okay. I think my maiden name makes a better first name.

Question 2: Would you use a friend's surname as a first or middle name?

It would depend on the friend and on the name! I have friends who surname is "Rose." They have been married for close to 20 years and have been unable to have children. We did talk about using "Rose" as a middle name for a girl since they were unable to carry on the name themselves. Ultimately, we didn't use the name but, if we had another little girl, I might consider it.

Question 3: Go to the site below and with surname checked off and 25 in the "names to return" box, enter random, but still normal queries into the other boxes. Would you use any of the names returned as first or middle names?

Of the results, here are ones I'd consider using: Harrison (I like this name a lot!); Henry; Hudson (discussed this as a possible first name during my second pregnancy); Hughes; Austin.

1. My surname (married) has become rather popular and I hate that, unless those using it have a legitimate connection.

2. It would be weird to me, like using their first name, unless I had ties to the name as well. So Anastasia and Augusta would be out.

3. No. But if it weren't DH's uncle I'd consider Thomas, and Anderson's not bad.

1. NO! It's SOOOO long. It has 12 letters.

2. It depends on the surname.

3. Thomas would be the only one I'd use.

Nat (23) Julian (28)

I would not use my maiden name because it is a common word. i would use family names such as Darby,Davis,McFalls,Peyton,Page(spelling Paige),Madison,or Sloan.
I do like Tucker,Hudson,Lee,Thomas,Patterson,and Matthis.
